If they can keep the House, win the presidency and get a supermajority in the Senate, sure. In the meantime pigs may also learn to fly.

Keep it up, Republicans. Yeah, I know liberals say all kinds of things, but you need to stay the course and do what you know to be right. Keep working to repeal Obamacare. You must, and you can. Keep doing what you're doing on minority outreach - it's working! Keep speaking publicly and loudly on rape, gays, abortion, religious freedom and second amendment rights. Keep making laws that favor business over people. Keep fighting Obama on everything. Keep doing what you're doing.

You will see the results in 2016, I promise.

It'd be really hilarious if EVERY Republican up for re-election lost so badly that even Green Party candidates get more votes.  It won't happen, of course, but it'd be nice to dream.

I have no faith in the American people.  If the results of our collective voting are proof of the mind of the voter, then the  average voter is a drooling moron.  Look who is in power now.  Either through stupidity or apathy we have really bad people in charge of the House of Representatives.  There is no evidence that this will change.

Keep perpetuating that myth, Paul. As long as your foresight doesn't extend past the next election, you're golden, right?

Hasn't he released two budget proposals this year alone that rely on savings that come from the ACA? Will he release two even more ridiculous versions if it's repealed and those savings no longer exist?

Also, FTFA: "...Seven million people on Obamacare; there's no way you can change it. It's just going to have to learn to live with it. I don't buy that for a second."

No matter how many times I read that my brain keeps translating it into, "Fark those people. I don't have to live with the fact that they have insurance now. We can still take it from them."

We can still privatize social security.

We can still repeal child labor laws

If we just lower taxes on the rich more, they'll hire more and raise wages this time, we swear!

To be fair, if we cut entitlements to the bone, it will prevent people like Paul Ryan from using the entitlements of his dead father to pay for college education, and we may inoculate future generations from thinking Ayn Rand was anything but fiction. Kind of a hard love for the upper middle class white people policy.

No, sorry, broseph ryan.  Your best case scenario is getting the WH 'and' the Senate in 2 years' time.  By then, on the upward of 20+ million people will be reliant upon Obamacare.  Ever heard of the 'third rail' of politics?

This is kinda like that.  Touch it and die.

Well, we will need a few more years of pouring money into the medical system that has mastered making profits from the masses before we realize single payer with private option was the way to go.

I really hope the GOP keeps campaigning on the ACA.  Every new person that gets insurance is one more vote the Republicans don't get.

Yep, can't wait for the next presidential election and the Republican candidates stand in front of the American public and tell them that they want to take away their health insurance.

2014-04-05 02:38:35 AM
That's not going to happen until damned near every Democrat is either in chains or dead.  I like the first option.  Their party loves slavery

2014-04-05 03:02:23 AM
I am farking sick of the right using the word "fundamentally" as a descriptor of every difference of opinion they have with the center or the left.  Everything is a "fundamental flaw" or a "fundamental change to the constitution" or a "fundamental harm to America".  What the fark qualifies as a moderate, but not fundamental difference to them?

/second place is tied between "disaster" and "narrative"

Universities don't normally teach Ayn Rand.  The place for that is high school.

Just reinstate slavery and let the Koch's buy up the surplus population (anyone who is not rich or in the GOP), this is sure to make the economy grow and there would be no need for any social services
