This guy gives crazy people a bad name...

Mental health services have increased in number and accessibility.  It's not known (to me) if mental health services had been made available to him, if he was following recommendations, or if the family had not recognized his need at all.

Events like this are real tragedies.

Dismembering a corpse doesn't mean you've killed it. There's quite possibly a very good explanation that isn't murder. No way it isn't some kind of criminal activity, though. Never cut up a corpse without written permission and witnesses.

Also, pro tip: Butchers and hunters don't use chainsaws. They use knives at the joints. It's much cleaner, almost as fast.

with a moose you use a chainsaw if it is the winter, put olive oil in where the bar oil goes and you are ready to rock.

OK, like one time, I was out in the parking lot
Tryin' to remove my excess earwax with a golf pencil
When I see this guy Marty tryin' to carry a big ol' sofa up the stairs all by himself
So I, I say to him, I say "Hey, you want me to help you with that?"
And Marty, he just rolls his eyes and goes
"No, I want you to cut off my arms and legs with a chainsaw"

So I did

And then he gets all indignant on me
He's like "Hey man, I was just being sarcastic"
Well, that's just great
How was I supposed to know that?
I'm not a mind reader for cryin' out loud
Besides, now he's got a really cute nickname - Torso-Boy
So what's he complaining about?

You know, i have always been interested in the psychology of serial killers / spree killers (and yes, i know this scumbag is not either) but still. What has happened to this persons mind, that not only can they kill their family members, and if thats not bad enough, have the 0 empathy to be able to chum them up into pieces and store their parts all over the house and live with the corpses? Was it something that happened to him as a child? Constant abuse? Neglect? Does he have a brain problem as has been seen in previous killers? Or is he just an asshole? i don't know, but from my studies of killers, esp serial killers, they seem to have suffered poverty as children and / or abuse of some sort, or..have an actual physiological difference in the brain that tends to give such of their ilk a total lack of empathy or remorse of any sort. Or maybe it was just his crappy haircut. I don't know..but that was some cold heartless shiat.

Jeffrey Dahmer did some extensive interviews, even with his parents. His childhood was as normal as anyone's. He said he didn't even like killing people, but cutting up pretty boys just turned him on.

In patients with schizophrenia, there are observable deficits in gray matter.  Here is an abstract demonstrating the difference.

How the difference in schizophrenics affects perception and behavior is as of yet unknown, but is being studied.

Several years ago the psychiatric hospital here went to a guys apartment to interview him because of reports he was crazy. Well they were too lazy to actually admit him so he goes in and starts shooting up the hospital and kills a few people. Here read about all the crazy shiat they knew he did http://www.post-gazette.com/local/region/2013/04/29/Suit-faults-UPMC- o thers-for-Western-Psych-shooting/stories/201304290232

My favorite "Good police work, Lou" moment in my own hometown came a few years ago when the paper reported a man had died after being stabbed. Early Saturday morning. Fifteen minutes after closing time (2:15 AM), to be precise. On the sidewalk immediately outside the worst bar in town.

"Police suspect alcohol was involved," the paper said drily.

/Tangentially relevant to the headline.

I'm sure it's interesting and very socially useful. The prison psychiatrists have these people on the couch for decades, and THEY can't figure out what makes the killers tick. My main concern is identifying them and making sure they are not in a position to kill innocent people.

It could have been an accident, where the person was running up the stairs with a revved up chainsaw, slipped, and chopped themselves up falling down the stairs.

Anybody would put the remains in the tub to keep blood off the carpet.
