Cars smashing into residential and business buildings are common, but just like a lightning strike, it rarely happens twice at the same location.

i imagine it never happens to most homes, but some homes are just in the wrong location and it happens to those particular homes a lot - like at a bend in the road or dead end or something.

Florida + strangers on property = stand your ground

I'm surprised there was no gunfire involved.

The driver, John T. Walker, told WETV that he is diabetic and fell asleep at the wheel after not eating anything for three days.

Guy needs to have his license revoked. How the hell is that any better than being drunk?

First they came for the Farmers' Market, and I said nothing, because I'm not a farmer with a marketing degree...

Meh, the two incidents happened two years apart.  It would be interesting if they happened on the same day.  Two years later is still in the "Boring" category.

There was a house near me that had a problem like this. It was right at the end of an off ramp from the highway and people would fly down lose control and end up in his living room. I forget how many times it happend, but he seemed to just laugh it off. I think he finally ended up putting up some big planters to stop the cars.

Some car crashes are just boring. Others have verve and pizazz.
As far as car crashes go you've either got it or you don't, and baby, you've got it.

In my area you see it frequently at T intersections.  One house about a mile from me had at least 3 cars end up in the living room due to the idiot drivers not realizing the road ended.

He must have been on a liquid diet.

Did you know that if you put up a boulder to stop the cars from flying into you, The alcoholics get mad at you for putting rocks in the way of their off-road adventure?

Neo: Whoa. Déjà vu.

[Everyone freezes right in their tracks]

Trinity: What did you just say?

Neo: Nothing. Just had a little déjà vu.

Trinity: What did you see?

Cypher: What happened?

Neo: A car crashed into that house, and then another car crashed into the same house.

Trinity: Did the cars look similar? Was it the same car?

Neo: It might have been. I'm not sure.

Morpheus: Switch! Apoc!

Neo: What is it?

Trinity: A déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Florida Matrix. It happens when they change something.

I thought this was going to be, like, 2 cars in 5 minutes or something, not incidents separated by 2 years.

Reminds me of this T intersection near my old apartments. While no houses were there, there was this deep ravine that usually ate at least one car that failed to realize that the road that they were on had ended and that they had just crossed a 4-lane road. This past year they moved the end of the road about 1,000 feet (and added a left-hand turn about 600 ft before the end of the road) so that it was no longer a ravine that was eating the cars, instead it was an empty field (even if they failed to negotiate the new left-hand turn).

This.

Two bends on the road I live on, that's two houses that has had damage from cars losing control.  One house sits back a bit and has trees to stop cars, but still has to fix his fence occasionally.  This winter, the guy kept parking a truck right in the spot where cars go off the most often, I think he wanted it hit because the axel looked bent on one side.  No one hit it, and I will laugh if someone hits his fence now that the truck isn't there.  The other house has expanded steel over its windows to keep parts of cars from going through, and has extra reflectors to alert drivers.

I live in the back of a quiet, boring neighborhood.  I'm the only one with my original brick mailbox.

I had a former neighbor contemplate putting half barrel planters in front of his yard 3/4th filled with concrete and 1/4th filled with dirt.

and around here we also have this genius.
Brand new corvette at the bottom of a pool. The linked video only shows an overhead shot, but local
news has just quoted the owner who said that he accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.
This bit of fine driving launched him  across the street, through the metal fence, and into the pool.

having multiple cars hit your house is the definition of bad feng shuei.

of course its going to take a lot more than new curtains to redirect the energy flow from oncoming traffic, I recommend moving.

//I don't practice feng shuei but read a book about it once.  The idea of thinking about how things work and move around you is smart, many of the the solutions to "improve" things get kind of batty.

This is why I will oppose flying cars. You know, the intentionally flying type. At least the average car-in-house can be predicted by curves and intersections. Flying cars will make everyone move into bunkers.

Ask the owners of the Columbia Restaurant in Tampa about vehicles colliding with buildings. As for lightning: lightning rods, how do they work?

it isn't different, but is DWI enforcement that heavy-handed yet?  I know MADD has had some heavy punishments installed but I was under the impression people still got quite a few chances before they were taken off the road for good.
