"What kind of croc are you? Well, you're weak, spineless, a croc of temptations. But what tempts you? You're a portly fellow. A bit long in the waistband. So what's your pleasure? Is it the salty snacks you crave? No no no no... Yours is a sweet tooth. Oh, you may stray, but you'll always return to your dark master... The cocoa bean! And only the purest syrup nectar can satisfy you. If you could, you'd guzzle it by the gallon... Ovaltine!? Hershey's!? Nestle's Quick!?"

So now that they've caught it and trussed it up like a pig, who wants to be the guy to cut it loose when they get to the release site? Not me.

You have to give them credit for not killing it.  I'm surprised they didn't.

Glenford: At IM Canada there was bear on the run course.[3.bp.blogspot.com image 850x854]

Same thing happened to me at work.  We have quite the path system in the woods.  I was doing my normal 5K during lunch and heard a rustling in the brush.  I stopped to check it out and didn't see a thing.  I continued my run and heard a car honking from the road.  I looked up and saw a black bear coming straight towards me.  The car honked some more and veered its course.  The person in the car said the bear AND HER CUB crossed the road ti head into the woods.  The rustlling I heard was the cub.  Momma was none too happy with me.

Could still be exciting:

"A ferocious man-eating crocodile believed to be on the loose has killed as many as 300 humans on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. It was given the nickname Gustave by Patrice Faye, a herpetologist, who studies reptiles and amphibians. "

TFA:
"Crocodiles are thought to be responsible for up to 745 attacks on people every year, most of them fatal. It is the third-most dangerous predator in Africa, after the lion and hippopotamus, according to the Crocodile Specialist Group of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. "

Meanwhile, in the Central African Rrepublic...

Are they sure there's only one, or do they want some mid-race surprise motivation?

I don't know...

Without the croc to eat them, the athletes are going to have to deal with a lot more giant men.

I was expecting to read a story about a giant man eating a crocodile.

They're going to move him to an Ugandan National Park.  He's a maneater!!!  I was half hoping they'd cut him open and then I looked over and saw that picture of Morgan Freeman in a hotel ad and I thought to myself, "that would make just about the most awesome TV PSA ever":

Freeman (voice over as camera rolls):  The river beast has finally been trapped and the relatives and fellow tribesmen of Bosco Nyansi celebrate on the banks of Lake Victoria.  Several men approach the behemoth with razor sharp machetes.  Quickly, they cut into the monstrous reptile, opening up his alimentary canal.  Out onto the banks of the lake a human torso plops, recognizable as Nyansi from the tribal scars on what was left of his chest.  The rest of the contents of the crocodile's innards spill out, mostly half digested body parts.  Titty sprinkles."

The Crocodile Specialist Group is over specialized. The hippo is not much of a predator.

Maybe they can get him to Britain in time for the Being Eaten By a Crocodile competition.
