Nearly all the moms I see in the mornings are wearing yoga pants, and very clearly no panties.  I see nothing wrong with this.

BitwiseShift: School boards are springboards to higher office. The antics of Florida's Katherine Harris, chad queen of the Bush 2000 election paved the way for Sarah Palin. Our Katherine rose to power from a lowly local election for board of whatever to being a world traveller on the taxpayer's back.

It depends on the presentation.  I, for one, do not wish to be witness to 25lbs of something flowing out of a 5lb container.

Good point; I probably should have mentioned I live in a very nice community and the school serves only those who live here.  The diversity is surprisingly good - not a white-flight community - but we certainly don't reflect your average wal-mart collective in terms of number of whales riding around on their scooty-puff jrs.

In short, my mornings more-or-less represent your average fark yoga pants thread.

Rambino: It's almost as if adults are allowed to dress however they want.

/next they'll make parents go to the principal's office for holding hands in the hallway

Had the founding fathers been told that, in a couple centuries, people will be wearing their pants hanging down past their asses, revealing their undergarments, and women will be wearing I'll-fitting garments of various types, they would have first biatchslapped the person saying that, and then, after some consideration, added "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness....but keep your farking pants above your waist, and do not dress like a harlot at school PTA meetings, dumbasses."

Be thankful it's not 350lbs of something flowing out of a 120 lbs container

monoski: maram500: Parents are farking stupid. There--I said it.

It is like they have given up on life and their only focus is the snowflake(s) the guys in my neighborhood all say the same thing; sex life is gone and it is all about getting the kid to soccer, music class, swimming etc...wives throw on sweat pants and call it quits.

I think that in the neighborhood of the school I'm talking about it isn't so much about the parents' lives only being about the snowflakes (for some, that's the case, I'm sure). But for a lot of them, it's about being seen by the community. And I guess the ultra-miniskirt and the cleavage-baring top (which exposes cleavage that should have been hidden away three decades ago...) is, to some, good "being seen" clothing.

Backing up the stupidity point, though, is this: There are parents who go out of their way in the mornings to the tune of twenty minutes each way to go get their morning Starbucks. Let me repeat: Some of these idiot parents drive twenty minutes to go get Starbucks, then drive twenty minutes more to get the little shiat(s) to school. Because mommy needs not only that double triple half-caf soy caramel latte with almond-milk foam and a drizzle of sugar-free chocolate, but she needs someone to see her with the Starbucks cup in her hand while the iPhone is in the other and the wheel is betwixt her knees.

/And somehow her left foot is applying mascara...

I have no problems with this. My mother is a schoolteacher in a fairly well-to-do school where the parents are generally more well-off than other parents in the school district, and when I go to help her with anything, the parents I see are just...wow.

Mothers in tube tops who would look more appropriate in muumuus. Yoga pants on women with thighs bigger than my chest. I saw one woman in an ultra-mini skirt (had she sneezed, the secret would have been out) and stripper heels with a top that exposed everything--including her belly button piercing. And the kids? We're talking second grade girls in pants that have to be painted on in the morning, they're so body-hugging. I swear that I have seen (unwillingly, mind you) panty lines on sixth-graders. This shiat is ridiculous. (And then there were the sixth-grade girls...just kidding.)

Parents are farking stupid. There--I said it.

I always attended all PTA meetings naked, it was the sensible thing to do.
