I so wish we could have a Library Cat.  But I know there are at least 2 "I have the disease/sensitivity/allergy that's popular right now" types who would file a workplace health complaint against me.  And that's just the workers - I can only imagine the 20-something attachment parents.

Would that be the Braun series "The Cat Who..." with the two cats who are like detectives? sorta. Very sorta detective cats?

Lillian Jackson Braun is her full name. My mom has a bunch of her books and I think she was telling me the cats help their human solve crimes or mysteries. I read stuff like "The Germanization of Early Medieval Christianity: A Sociohistorical Approach to Religious Transformation". No one in my family ever shares books with me. :'-(

YAY for Caturday! I need kitteh pics, for sure! Gotta do a few things then will be back to tell my tale of horror. Mainly my little semi-feral cat has an injured back left leg and I can't get my hands on her. We're still broke from the Great Termite Wars (tens of thousands in debt, actually) so I have no idea what I'd do if I did get her, but I'm sure she took the rough end of a fight with something even without any blood or wounds. She acts scared and paranoid. More than usual for a feral cat, at least.

*sigh* Well, that's really all there is to tell right now about poor Moo Kitty Sissy Doodles. Keep yer paws crossed for us over here. We're all dying reaaal slow or something and it sucks. :-/

Yay caturday.
It was a great week until today. My accident settlement is going through the last stages, out of the blue a fair amount of stock my father had is "found" and in process, the feral mother cat mentioned before that I have been working with has decided I am not an enemy to her or her kittens and curled up on my lat at the shelter. My teenager is doing well in school, I found the most perfect anniversary gift for the wife, and the cats were happy as well as they got a couple of dinners of their favorite, smoked turkey. I even joked with a friend that with everyone happy for a change something bad had to happen. Yep. I get a call that a best friend for over 40 years just died of cancer. I was going to take the weekend to visit her. Too late. So, could even more funny pics be posted this week?

On the library cats, my father when he was living here had three favorite book stores. Two of which had cats "supervising". Why he had us take him there.

No library in the stories, but Rita Mae and Sneaky Pie Brown have talking cats/dogs/animals helping their humans solve mysteries.  The humans in the book can't understand the animals but the animals can "talk" to and understand each other.

It's sing-cerely hoped cute may do, if funny doesna find fast enough.  This posted 9-15-13, believe by ADHD LIbrarian, 'tis baby Australian possum.  Not 150% sure where found this, but very possibly not here.  Normally only bold names of Caturday folk & critters they own or who own them, so in this case will embiggen.

I do not have a trap. I had one 20-something years ago but have relocated so much over the years, I probably gave it to someone who lived near the woods and told 'em to call me when they got a Sasquatch or something.

The sad thing is, since I've not been well enough to work I've been finding other ways to make money. I went through a box of old McD's toys I didn't even know I had and they were still all in their packages. I sold 'em on the internet for over $200 and shipped them all off this morning - then went "feed everyone" shopping (food for resident humans, food for cats, gas for car) because I had not seen Moo and did not know she was hurt. If I had known before then, I'd at least have the money for a trap and an office visit but we have had it so rough the past several months that lately whenever I get money - FOOD FOR ALL!

It took me at least an hour to get over feeling guilty for buying food after I noticed Moo was injured. I didn't know there was a reason to NOT do a *major* shopping trip, so I should not have felt guilty at all. It's not like I just didn't feel like hitting up the local "community" (church) dinners and seeing how good they were at making potato salad and trying to convert a Heathen without being rude or openly hostile at the same time. Hell, there are days that's my idea of a good time. My manners are always perfect on the very rare occasions I am a guest in other peoples' homes and sacred spaces, btw. Just so ya know. I even offer to do dishes. :-)

I still have no idea what I'd do if I did catch her. I think at this point all I can really do is keep checking on her and making sure her area is defended and she has clean water and gooshy fuds.
