I still can't really eat. :/

Sometimes it just quickly kills you inside

/it takes years to actually die on the outside

Last year a broken heart put me in the hospital with acute tachycardia twice in a month. It seems no doubt that it could kill someone with a weaker heart.

Thanks! Glad you're not dead too!

So far two stab wounds, a 60-mph Jeep to the face, cancer, sepsis from a MRSA infection originating in my heart, tropane alkaloid poisoning, and radiation poisoning haven't stopped me. It would just be too embarrassing to die at this point to a broken heart.

As someone who lost his wife three weeks ago to a heart attack, thank you both for this.  First laugh in weeks.

Glad you're both not dead.

When my aunt died a few years ago, we really thought we were going to lose my mother there for a couple of weeks. She didn't eat, had to take her to the hospital a couple of times because her GP thought she was going to have a heart attack or stroke at one point. As a matter of fact, each year on the anniversary of her death she seems to get ill.

It makes me think there's some validity in that old saying: Death comes in threes.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. Really. My friend's wife died rather unexpectedly a few months ago. The sadness I felt in losing her is absolutely nothing compared to the helplessness of watching him struggle. I'd do anything to help him, but there's just nothing to be done.

Glad you could laugh about this today. Peace to you.

I knew a couple that were married for 60 years or so, parents of a friend of mine....though they were in their 80's, both of them were very spry and just generally happy and healthy. Still got up and walked a couple miles every day, were out and about all the time, really no sign of poor health.  One day, she up and died of a stroke, doctors had no inkling that she was in danger.  The old man lasted less than two weeks after her death....I'll forever believe that a broken heart did him in.

This.

The Grandfather of a buddy of mine was like 80 but strong as on ox, seriously his handshake could take most men to their knees.

His wife died suddenly and he died like 2 weeks later...he literally wasted away ... in 2 weeks.

And thus in anguish Beren paid
for that great doom upon him laid,
the deathless love of Lúthien,
too fair for love of mortal Men;
and in his doom was Lúthien snared,
the deathless in his dying shared;
and Fate them forged a binding chain
of living love and mortal pain.

KATlSHA: Go to! Who knows so well as I that no one ever yet died of a broken heart.
KO KO: You know not what you say. Listen!

SONG--KO-KO.

On a tree by a river a little tom-tit
Sang "Willow, titwillow, titwillow!"
And I said to him, "Dicky-bird, why do you sit
Singing Willow, titwillow, titwillow'?"
"Is it weakness of intellect, birdie?" I cried,
"Or a rather tough worm in your little inside?"
With a shake of his poor little head, he replied,
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"He slapped at his chest, as he sat on that bough,
Singing "Willow, titwillow, titwillow!"
And a cold perspiration bespangled his brow,
Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!
He sobbed and he sighed, and a gurgle he gave,
Then he plunged himself into the billowy wave,
And an echo arose from the suicide's grave--
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"Now I feel just as sure as I'm sure that my name
Isn't Willow, titwillow, titwillow,
That 'twas blighted affection that made him exclaim
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"
And if you remain callous and obdurate, I
Shall perish as he did, and you will know why,
Though I probably shall not exclaim as I die,
"Oh, willow, titwillow, titwillow!"

(During this song Katisha has been greatly affected, and at the end is almost in tears.)
