I'm so tired of everything that is low res being called 8-bit.... Those colors are at least 16-bit.

Please, just call it low res!

For all intents and purposes, the channel calls the recurring series "8 Bit Cinema":

They do a great job, should make some of these into actual games.

I don't remember saying anything about them not doing a great job... I just want people to refer to things as what they actually are. Sort of like incorrectly using the word "theory" or "literally". It just drives me crazy. I know it's silly, but we all have our pet peeves.

I don't like the idea of perpetuating a misconception. I understand that there is a sort of Xerox/Kleenex effect going on ...but "8-bit" seems to be a totally incorrect designation. The term has NOTHING to do with that quality of low res art.

It's like calling all classical music a concerto

Never said that you said they weren't do a great job. I added that as my own thoughts.

They call it '8-bit Cinema' as a name. Perhaps 'Low Res Cinema' just doesn't have the same ring to it and/or won't attract viewers. Also keep in mind that lumping 8 and 16 bit together is probably in line with how younger viewers see it.

Moreover, it would be acceptable to call something on YouTube 'Fark Films', even though it was all shot on digital media/doesn't involve actual 'film'.

Nah.. i know it's a pet peeve and that nobody cares ...but I can't help it, it irks me.

Yeah, I see someone else got there first, I was just going to say, having owned both the Atari 2600 and the Turbografx16, I'm giving this one to the 16-bitters.

He says near end of video @ 3:00 "This entire episode was actually in 16-bit."

Given that the two movies play out like platformers, this is actually a bit of an upgrade...
