Something about that name implies she is used to getting her way.

I'd had told her she could walk in exchange for a spanking

Haha, what a stupid little twit. I do appreciate the detailed reporting about exactly what the officer was doing (reading his mail while parked at the post office) when he caught her out of the corner of his eye. I could really visualize that, man.

When you are driving at over twice the speed limit, yes.

More importantly it's usually "30 mph over" the speed limit so the police aren't busy arresting everyone on 5 mph side roads.

In Arizona 20 over the limit in town is aggravated speeding. ARS 28-701.02. Exceeding 85 on the Interstate is too. It is not usually charged as such, but if you have an attitude...

Based on Google street view she wasn't really a crazy driver. It's posted 55-40-30 coming into town and looks like it should be 10-15 mph higher.

In much of Canada going 50 km/hr over the limit will get you in a heap of trouble. Below that and you just get a ticket.

I remember the days when Fark wouldn't allow links to places that had paywall or auto surveys.

Great way to earn a driving vacation and doubling of your car insurance.

We have a ring road that gets people quite often since it's 80kph but 6 lanes wide. Some yobbo in an Evo X got nailed at 180kph around there and I saw his car on kijiji the next week.

Where I live, double the speed limit is instant loss of license privileges. As in they take your license from you right there and they drive your ass home in the back of a squad car. Which is why, if you are doing double the speed limit, fark it go triple!

I "filled out" the survey by choosing a random answer.

According to TFA, she was going 65, so even in the 55 MPH section of road, she was still speeding, and deserved a ticket at the very least.

I also grow tired of people implying that speed limits are set artificially low on streets lines with residences, or are solely for the purpose of collecting fines...

In America the speed limit on a street with houses might be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, and possibly even 75 in Texas. If speed limits by residences are never artificially low then 5 must be the correct limit.

HA, not really a news story but amusing.
My fed chums have given the tickets then told the idiot that if daddy is a cop,
to stop by the station and the ticket goes bye-bye
to date, I don't think any have ever stopped by.

I always liked
" I thought police didn't ticket pretty girls.."
officer- "they don't,  here's your ticket"

The speed limit for residential areas is determined by how many residences per mile there are, how close to the road they are, how wide the road is, and whether parking is permitted on one or both sides. Obviously, a rural residential area where the houses are 100 feet back from the shoulder of the road, you will see speed limits in excess of 45 MPH. However, on a typical city street with parking on both sides, and only a sidewalk separating the houses from the street, you will see posted speeds of 25 MPH or under.

Maybe because cop daddy explains why he's not going to stop by the station to do this, and/or quit doing X.

Yup, the officer first saw her from the post office.  I'm guessing that was in the 30 zone, which would be more than double the limit.  I basing that on how a lot of small towns put the post office near the center of town.
