They're also more likely to spill their drink while driving while getting their wing-wang squeezed.

It's pretty much a rule that post-pubescent straight males don't do anything as well when there's an attractive female anywhere nearby. Some us of can't even laugh like a normal person when talking to an attractive woman.

/I used to be scared of beautiful women, until one of them told me they were just as scared of me
//Obscure?

Oh, I've had to shift with my left hand because my right hand was busy and I've had to quickly deal with the shifter being forced out of gear. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink

pfft, my first car was a Fiat 500 with a four speed box and no synchromesh on first. For years afterwards I would still double-declutch and rev-match when downshifting.

/I had a pair of onions hanging from the rear-view mirror.

"But one of the most distracting things, according to some studies, is just having another teen in the car. "

Kind of like the massive number of studies that prove having a kid in the car is a lot more distracting and dangerous to adults driving than texting or calling? When are we going to ban putting kids in cars?

Have you ever accidentally hit the brake going for the clutch in a car that is automatic?

I have.

I've also tried to find fifth gear while driving a four-speed manual.

No. To avoid that I make sure to tuck my left leg up across the front of the seat.

There's also the 6th/R issue on occasion.

When I used to travel for work my personal car was a 5-speed and all rentals (in the US) were automatic.  A couple of times I accidentally hit the brakes when going for the non-existent clutch.

//Also had short adjustment periods when driving a different car that was geared differently, had a different pattern,  a touchy clutch, etc.

//Was fun learning the gear ratios in work trucks to figure out how to drive stick without the clutch.

I found out that I could start from a stop in 4th gear in my old pickup, and without burning/smelling the clutch.
