Hobodeluxe: more and more people are finally realizing that the GOP and their pundits lie.

Cue Karl Rove, frothing at the mouth and demanding a recount.

The Larch: Republicans never once sent a single bill to the President to sign that would have repealed Taftcare.

The Republicans just tried to propose some basic common-sense solutions to fix some of the bigger problems with the law. I think we can all admit that there are some problems to fix! But the Democrats are obstructionists, and kept blocking the Republicans sensible reform proposals.

Thats because Democrats hate freedom and jobs.

Not sure if trolling, stupid, or attempting to be funny and failing badly.

What's really interesting about that is that each time the buttons are bigger and more colorful. Almost as if the US were growing more prosperous over time and had more excess resources to spend on political messaging.

But of course that's not possible, because those first two programs were implemented and destroyed the country with socialism.

what_now: Don't listen to those unbelievers. They're just RINOs who don't understand what Real America wants. Go all in with the repeal.

THIS

The only reason the GOP is losing is because they are not adequately committed to the cause. I say double down! You can't lose!

FlashHarry: i wonder what it's like hoping so deeply that something designed to help poor people will fail. how do you do that and then go to your church on sunday?

That is a damn good question.

* How does a church going devout person WANT healthcare to fail?
* How do churches and pastors root support candidates who want to shun the poor and sick?

It really is bizarro time.

clambam: Let the frantic backpedaling begin. By the way, the Democratic campaign slogans practically write themselves" "Happy about your new health insurance? Vote Democratic if you want to keep it."

"Are you on your parents insurance? The Republicans wants to kick you off the policy!"

"Pre-existing condition? Better for Democrat!"

I guarantee that you'll see people make those claims non-ironically in the next six months.

Heck, Republicans are already making the claim that only three of the fifty four bills they passed to repeal obamacare would have actually repealed it entirely. The other fifty one just altered it in some way.

any kind of conservative alternative will have to confront the reality that the kind of tinkering-around-the-edges alternatives to Obamacare that many Republicans have supported to date would end up stripping coverage from millions of newly-insured Americans.

Um, hate to break this to you, but Obamacare WAS the conservative alternative. That's why the current "conservative alternative" is "we got nothin'!"

This.  Health care reform with a public option was the alternative/compromise to single payer.

The individual mandate is basically 100% Conservative.

The Jami Turman Fan Club: dericwater: Target Builder: GOP Problem: "Fartbongocare" is becoming popular.
GOP Solution: Rename it Heritage Care, Claim Credit.

Dollars to doughnuts if they get the House, Senate and White House within the next ~4 cycles that's what they will do.

And just in time, too, for the insurance companies to get too greedy and start raising premiums, completely thwarting the benefits of O6amaCare. Then, we'll get an upgrade to ACA 2.0 which would be a public option (where the government is the default insurance carrier) and kill that beast called the insurance industry.

The insurance companies know this.  They'll keep premiums down and make merely a ton of money instead of their previous shiat-ton.  They were fully aware that they were squeezing patients and hospitals so badly that it was turning us into a third world country, and they wanted vanBurencare to happen because the alternative would kill them.

Some companies get the idea that if you kill the cow, you lose the milk.  You can milk a cow for a very long time as long as you keep feeding her.

Gotta get her pregnant first buddy...just think about that for a moment...the insurance companies impregnating you so they can milk you.  I have the weirdest boner right now.

Because Republican Jesus hated the poor.  Duh!

Serious Black: God-is-a-cubano: Is that a direct quote?

It would be hilarious if it was, but no, it is not a direct quote. At least that I know of.

It is. Sweet Jesus, it is.

Fuggin Bizzy: What kind of yacht club are we talking about? A nice one, or one of those blue-collar yacht clubs?

/I actually heard someone say "blue-collar yacht club" non-ironically once upon a time.

Yeah, it's called the boat launch at the local park.
