Sucks for Tiger, but maybe he will come out of it better than he was doing this year.  Wow, in 2007 I thought he was a lock for beating Jack.  Now?  not so much.

Thanks Taft

Dude has lost his will to win.  He won the US Open on a broken leg (playing a whole extra round).  Now he won't even try after back surgery?  Loser.

Even he admitted that was a mistake.  Should've gone to Derek Jeter for advice and for what type of basket he should give to the gf at the end of the relationship.

Considering just how flat-out mad Tiger's Masters victory made my old racist uncle, the idea of him getting mobbed by half the waitstaff of the Augusta Hooters on the 18th is hilarious to me.

No, not really. But at least Vijay had the decency to a. be Indian, rather than African-American (neither of these are terms that my uncle would use to describe either man), and b. not be 21 when he won.

For an old man who grew up in Kentucky and lives in Georgia, watching a 21-year-old black kid make a mockery of "the tradition unlike any other" was just too much.

He was doing PED's just prior to the whole "ho explosion" and this is a good example of why you don't want to do them, being you are more prone to injury.

Look at that shirtless photo op he did right before his affairs went public, pretty much standard looks for someone on steroids.  Now I don't think he used them so much to be a better golfer but to look better for his side activities.  The problem is once you come off it really throws off your timing.

I don't hate Tiger for the alleged PEDs, or for the extra-marital affairs.  I hate Tiger because he won't give the average fan the time of day even though they enable his multi-multi-million dollar endorsements and appearance fees.  No autographs, no high fives, not even any friendly smiles when walking off.  And, for some reason that I cannot fathom, millions of them still adore him.

He may yet pass Jack on the number of majors won, but he's not and never will be on the same planet as Jack when it comes to "class".

Actually when his decline started it was my brother in law, who got his pro-card the first time out, and has had more rounds in the 70's then I can count who first brought to my attention that Tiger was on PED's, but that aside, I guess we can't talk about Bonds on PED's or anyone else since we are not masters of said sports.  In fact I suppose we can't even talk about body builders using, since I'm not an on stage level body builder.

I just find it hilarious that you think 5 PGA wins in a year is somehow a "down" year for anyone.

I bet your BIL would give his left nut for Tiger's year last year.  I head some analysts even say Tiger should cut down on his weight lifting.  It is hilarious, the jealousy just seeps through the TV.  Guess your post just struck me as similar.

Tiger kinda put that on himself by stating publicly that breaking Nicklaus's record means so much to him.  If he doesn't win a major, people will call it a "down" year by using Tiger's own metrics.

i never read where he said that.   but, i bet tiger himself thinks last year was a down year...especially since he was in the chase in the majors, and couldn't close the deal.

not white-knighting anyone here, but anyone who thinks tiger is happy with his game after 2008 is delusional.   doesn't matter how many tour wins he get, he doesn't care about the "john deere open", or whatever they are....  the ones that matter- the only ones- are the majors.

what i've said about tiger since 2009 is this- it wouldn't surprise me if he never won another major...and, it wouldn't surprise me if he won five in a row.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything. I mean, are we going with the "only if you have the right kind of experience can you question" crap.

He was 6'1" and 160 pounds soaking wet when he won the Masters. Then, in his late 20s, he put on 30-50 pounds of damn near cartoonish muscle. Seriously, in 2003-2005, the guy looked freaking ridiculous. Then, once the PGA doping policy comes in to play, he drops back down to the 185 that he's said he has been at for most of his adult life (despite seemingly training just as much).

The doping policy went in to effect July 1st, 2008. That would have been the next tournament Tiger plays after winning the US Open. The broken leg isn't a sham, but he was playing on it since late 2007. Sure, perhaps he made it worse during that week, but he played half a dozen other tournaments on it too.

Also, all his freaking injuries have been tendon and ligament injuries. It's just enough circumstantial evidence to say what if. His swing was much much more violent in the mid/late 90s and the only injury he had through the 90s up to 2002 was his left knee where he had a tumor and a cyst that needed to be drained every few years. Then, all of the sudden his ligaments and tendons seemed to have turned in to cold rubber bands when his swing became more controlled and consistent.

Now, ignoring all that, he worked with a known PED provider on experimental treatments where he needed the guy to fly in from Canada to help him in his Florida home.

Call it ridiculous all you want. I know I won't ever have enough evidence to 100% say it is the truth, but I do not think it is clear cut in any way, shape, or form.
