It also relies on unofficial scorekeeping help from the Congressional Budget Office, reflecting the beneficial effects of deficit cuts on long-term economic growth and tax revenues.

This means the budget was dynamically scored. Which is another way of making supply side plans look like they add up. For example, the Bush tax cuts:

It's faith based economics. Don't buy it.

Can we please stop calling these GOP Talking Point generators "the House GOP budget"?

Really, they should be reclassified as campaign materials and subjected to FEC regulations.

I wish I was making that up.

The safety net has become a hanmock. Take away the incentive to NOT work, - especially for inner city people who haven't worked for generations- and they'll be forced to work.

On whether Ryan's plan would balance the budget, The Associated Press notes it "claims balance by 2024, but relies on $74 billion in savings in that year from the macroeconomic effects of cutting deficits, which CBO says would have a long-term positive effect because it would free up savings and investment capital. Democrats are sure to seize on the maneuver as phony math; without these projections, however, Ryan's budget plan would fall almost $70 billion short of balance."

Every time Paul Ryan opens his gob I wanna laugh. Here's a guy who got Survivor's Benefits from Social Security as a teen and then went into government as his career. He's pretty much suckled at the public teat his entire life and yet wants to cut everything that gave him a leg up and paid his bills. Fark Paul Ryan.

2014-04-01 02:31:35 PM
Yeah, let's do this again.

Now we'll watch as everyone in the GOP makes a big show of support, but only verbally. When it comes time to put it in to action, they'll all walk away from it.

I figured out it was the filter, but the first thing I thought of was "I guess Paul Ryan is angling for some non-rape rape, here."

2014-04-01 02:40:37 PM
The American people had the perfect opportunity show support for Paul Ryan budgets in the last presidential election.  By voting for Taft Americans were voting against Paul Ryan and all he believes in.  Why is Ryan allowed to have any say in the budget process after Americans rejected him?

2014-04-01 02:40:44 PM
Don't forget, he also jacked up military spending.

2014-04-01 02:40:45 PM
At this point, I'd like to pass a Paul Ryan budget.  But when they do, Paul Ryan will have to write an honest letter to be distributed to everyone who has their benefits cut explaining why he cut their benefits and cut taxes for the rich.  Let him tell them that their food needs and healthcare come second to filling the pockets of his wealthy friends. I want every person he'd hurt to see that.  Aside from the hardcore "doesn't matter what you say" right wingers, I think the GOP would see a lot fewer votes when people realize just who is actively trying to hurt them.

It's almost as if he'd discovered a philosophy which publicly ridiculed state assistance, yet privately benefited from such assistance.  Reconciling the two must have rendered a wealth of hypocrisy, yet, like Atlas balancing the world on his shoulders, I'm sure Ryan was able to shrug it off and proceed apace.

I'm really wondering once gentrification is a decade or two further what new way of saying "black" they'll think off.

Either way, whatever they'll decide upon, I'm sure that they'll believe that the rest of us have no idea what they're really saying.

By that reasoning, Mr Ryan must believe, should his budget be adopted, he will be God.
For now, no doubt, he is content trying to do "God's work"
