I can think of the appropriate punishment for the father and stepmother.

I bet you can't.  The law probably holds that if the this abuse charge is the first against the father or step mother, five years is about what gets dished out.  Of course, the father is looking at the prospect of facing a burglary conviction so the prison sentence might get doubled.

There are simply no words in the tongues of this world to describe this type of evil.

Seriously, I want to see these people dragged through the streets.

How does the boy feel about sauerkraut?

I read up on the Flowers in the Attic movie recently. I didn't know Wes Craven was once attached to direct. Apparently, his version was going to involve obvious suggestions of incest, as in the book, and other bits of creepiness - he is Wes Craven, after all.

Anyway, since he was replaced, I did wonder if his People Under The Stairs was a remnant of his proposed ideas for the earlier film.

Haven't seen it since it came out.

I was a bit suprised to see pics of the boy but it's good in a way that people who read about it can't minimize it and think maybe it sounds worse than it is.

Notice it was the 16 year old who noticed what was going on abd was willing to fight his step father to help the kid. Good for him. I'd like to know more about that situation.

Harry was in much better condition than this little boy.

If ever there was a time for the Cruciatus curse...

Don't worry folks, she is currently pregnant with child #7 so this one will be replaced soon.

This is one subject that I won't begin to even joke about.  That poor child.

My son, being a Harry Potter fan, wanted to sleep in the cupboard under the stairs when we moved into the current place. I had to explain to him that it would probably result in a visit from CPS.

They live just a few miles away from me and they live right across the street from an elementary school. Absolutely horrible situation for the boy & the other children.

Do the other children look like they are treated normally? Is this the only target child?

I've only seen a photo of 2 of the other kids  - an elementary aged girl and a toddler girl but they both appeared ok physically.

I don't know how I would be able to restrain myself from beating these two to death with a hockey stick. If you don't want children, science has figured out how to prevent them, it's called birth control!

Ugh. That sucks so much more for this kid. When your parents abuse everyone equally, then your parents are assholes. It's obviously a problem with them. But when they treat your siblings well and treat you like shiat, in your head you are the problem. There is something wrong with you specifically that isn't wrong with the well-treated sibs, and this thing, whatever it is, is why they hate you. You're not worth loving and treating well like your sibs obviously are. That'll f*ck a kid up for a long, long time.

These two... I don't believe in a literal, fire and brimstone Hell for these two to burn in unfortunately. But if someone wants to come up with some sort of Hell simulator...

Not that I'm wishing abuse on the other kids, but you know what I mean.

It happens a shocking amount of the time though.

There's a court case in Canada where a grandmother treated the 2 elder grandkids well, but heavily abused the other too. Call them the "pigs", refusing them food, chaining them to the wall, etc. One of the abused kids died from starvation. :(

In court there was speculation that the reason why she did this* was because she was getting benefits for 4 kids, BUT if she spent the money on only herself and 2 kids, they could actually live somewhat comfortably.

/*Other than being a psycho biatch that should never had gotten the kids

Judicially mandated sterilization really needs to come back into vogue.

Yeah, I was kinda wondering why they only pick on one kid. I was thinking that he might be disabled in some way, not that it would justify anything.

It's possible. Or (since he's his but not hers) he looks a bit too much like his mama whom NewMommy hates. Or he was a fussy baby. Or some other stupid reason. Having one target child is more common than you'd think, and often parents who target one child don't have any reason at all that would make sense to anyone else outside of their f*cked up world.
