And yet, Don Baylor beat him to the DL.

This definitely seems like it'll be an interesting season to watch even though I'm not a baseball fan. It's like "Final Destination" for sports injuries!

Can Stephen our Heineken-swilling overlord switch to second when Reyes comes back?...whenever the fark that is

On the bright side he won't be committing any errors for a while. Just saying.

He injured his hamstring on a pop fly to center. He didn't even have to run hard.

You have to split the prize with the other 3 million people who also picked that

Probably two weeks, but man am I hoping I'm wrong.  That guy could do everything from 2005-2008, not that anyone noticed because Cleveland.  Great range in CF, clubbed homers and doubles, swiped bases, and almost never took a day off (158, 162, 162, and 157 games).

In 2008 (when he was still only 25), he looked like he was on a Hall of Fame trajectory:

Barry Bonds (through age 25): .265/.358/.479, 156 2B, 26 3B, 117 HR, 169 SB, great LF defense. (5 years, 717 games)
Grady Sizemore (through age 25): .279/.370/.491, 169 2B, 34 3B, 111 HR, 117 SB, great CF defense.  (5 years, 682 games)

That's how media-immune Cleveland is.  They basically had a better version of a young Barry Bonds, and people only sort of noticed him.  Sadly, he'll probably be in the Tony Conigliaro wing of Baseball Players That Might Have Been, but I hope he has a second act in him.

I'll always remember the "Grady's Ladies" fans. He was popular in Cleveland.

Because absolutely nobody gets injured before or during the season in football and basketball.

2014-04-01 01:30:51 PM
No, no one ever gets injured in any other sport, hence they are all superior, so much so that I have to go and comment on every baseball article how much I dislike the sport and how stupid anyone is who likes something I don't.

Patrick Corbin and Brandon Beachy already won this race, didn't they? Or was it Yu Darvish?

/let's just allow bionic arms already

Catcher Kevin Plawecki.

I figured he was going to be hurt pretty quickly so I made sure he didn't show up in my list of players to draft...the funny thing is that someone offered me a trade for one of my shortstops before he got injured and I rejected it...the guy is absolutely panicking and we're 1 game into the season.

To be fair, he was robbed of a hit, and he wasn't running all that hard.

/still, fark my Jays it's already begun
//we are going to be swept by Tampa
////Go Raptors!

Whoever decided that Reyes should play on the Big O turf in Montreal should be fired. Gibbons, AA, it doesn't matter. They might all be gone soon enough.

/Raptors lose Lowry too to injury

//DaFoe also tweaked his hammy
///Laffs keep laffing

Being a Toronto sports fan is suffering.

It was a bloop that would have been a hit if not for Jennings making a circus catch. Reyes was running hard.
