So the cop grabs the butter knife and says "Alright... Spread 'em!"

How many times did the cops reload?

If she hadn't armed herself they would have been forced to shoot her for being unarmed.

I can't tell if that is an exhausted woman at the end of her rope being harassed by by some dickhead until she finally snaps. I've seen douchebaggery by restaurant patrons that made me want to punch them.

She also might be some screeching harpy who should never have taken an order in the first place.

Any idea how "Huynh" is pronounced?

She certainly doesn't deserve the standard 10% for good service.

Here we go.

I don't know why, but I read the headline as "walrus" instead of "waitress".

Nguyen is pronounced Win.  I believe Huynh is pronounced Numbah One Boom Boom.

It's a shame the customer and the waitress had the falling out; she probably would have loved him long time.

FTA: "including a bruise on the victim's jaw,"

How long did it take for the cops to get there? Unless you get hit by a baseball bat, it usually takes 12-24 hours for a bruise to show up. Customer was a dick, waitress was stressed out. Call it a day and cut your losses.

TheYeti: She certainly doesn't deserve the standard 10% for good service.

If I was at one of her tables, I'd give her a 30% tip just for the pleasure of seeing her clock someone acting like a jerk.

If she's Vietnamese, "Huy" sounds like "whey" and the nh will be a ng sound, so maybe "whey-ng", close to wing or weeng.

No, it's not.  "Ng" at the beginning of a word is a very distinct sound that most westerners can barely hear, let alone pronounce.   That's doesn't mean that it sounds or is pronounced like "W".

Seems like it was not her first offense.

http://www.bustedinboise.com/locations/idaho/ada-county/19804936  2013

and first of this month  http://www.westernblotter.com/news/idaho/suspect-taken-into-custody-o n -multiple-counts/10445158.html

seems a total of five arrests.

She has been arrested for.

1. Destruction of property.  TWICE
2. DUI
3. Violating probation and failure to appear.

But your rice queens keep on white knighting the crazy asian chick.

Seeing that the customer didn't want to press charges after being attacked hit in the face, it sounds like the customer was pretty easy going and quite cool about it.  Occam's razor says the waitress is a nutjob.

I was a waitress off and on for years, and a damn good one. The rare bad customers got my smiling, passive aggressive side. I would smile and dog them out with fifty cent words that they didn't understand until (hopefully) they were halfway home.

Many waitress horror stories....the nuts you meet.....I worked at the 2nd busiest Denny's in CA when I was a youngun, on the graveyard shift. Very weird people. One pimp would come in, have a club sandwich, fries for his two girls, and leave a $50 on the table, keep the change. I liked him. Many other Denny's stories.

The last place I served was at a 4 star ritzy place. I made at least 30% per table, and had customers ask for my section.

I bet she was a shiat waitress with a hair temper. Good waitresses can deal with asshole customers.

She is fairly cute, and probably like a rabid badger in bed. However, I wouldn't risk the high odds of her ripping my kidneys out and selling them on the black market to find out.

/hopefully, they'll all have heart attacks so the winners will be the rest of us.

Yep.
Current server here, and i make a good living at it.
Started at olive garden, and worked my up to mid-grade to eventually high level restaurants. yeah, i deal with crappy guests, but so does everyone in life. I cringe at "whiney server" threads. It makes us all look like a bunch of jerks.
It all evens out in the end, so when you get a shti-heel guest or a shiat-heel tip, just smile, maybe vent to a co-worker for a sec, and then move on to the next table.

Probably undiagnosed psych problems and self-medicating.  Sad story, but one of a million that we also don't care about.

Which was my guess even BEFORE you posted that, but is only reinforced.

Bath her, and send her my way.

She only used her fists, and a knife.

You won't get them against each other.

Both cops and servers put up with a ton of shiat for relatively good pay for their skillsets, and both have above average numbers of people who lose it and get a sense of position entitlement.

The only real difference here is the cops have more tools than spitting in your food.
