Considering the sort of people who join the NRA I wouldn't want to be associate with them either.  They already threaten to kill people at the drop of a hat.

True. A lot of posters can really hurt the delicate sensitivities of those fragile NRA members who need constant reassurance that they're manly men.

Wild speculation -- he's thinking the potential for embarrassment is going to be too high for comfort. Maybe, in the process of trying to get stuff done with legislators or in the courts, he's had to spend too much time disassociating himself from things that were said at certain events. If he doesn't attend an event where controversy ensues, he won't need to explain anything away.

We do not make threats, we do not tell people to prepare for war, nor do we sell bumper stickers that proclaim 'BALLOTS or BULLETS'

If only, Thomas King. If only.

Your pointillism is well taken.

Well, it's the same as someone that's anti-gun not wanting to appear on Limbaugh's show. Seriously, why scream into a wind tunnel stuck on "hurricane", no matter which side you take in this particular debate?

Neither side wants to give ground, and all they do is scream at each other.

hm, re that flag and 'come and take it', I don't suppose that's legally protective? I mean, if you saw a guy holding that and went up to him and beat him down, and...well...took it (and hey, his guns) from him, why couldn't you go, "Hey, that flag provided the waiver!"

No..  It's actually the opposite of that.

(my advice:  try reading the headline and/or the article again.  ask an adult to help you sound-out the hard words)

No, it's not. He said he doesn't want to go talk to a bunch of people who don't want to listen. He also mentioned that tempers flare at these events, and he doesn't want to deal with it.

WOW, that sounds just like why someone who was anti gun wouldn't want to go on to the farking Limbaugh show.

And people who suggest reading the headline for their "correct" take on an article are either brain dead, or it's their first day on Fark, since only about 3/4 of the headlines accurately reflect the story they are linking to, and a portion of the ones that DO reflect the story get it bass-ackwards.

...except all these people are supposed to be on the same side.  The "anti gun" guy and Limbaugh in your analogy are already sworn enemies.

To include Limbaugh in an analogy you'd have to say "This would be like a GOP politician refusing to go on Limbaugh's show because they consider him to be a divisive, reactionary, racist, gay-bashing, sexist, money-grubbing pompous pigman."

Of course GOP politicians don't often have a problem with those positions or with the way Rush "cleverly" outlines those positions.

Dean Skelos. Republican NY State Senator and current Majority Leader. Here's the part that probably provoked that sign: "In 2013, as Senate Leader, Skelos was responsible for suspending Senate rules and bringing the NY SAFE Act to the floor. He later voted for the SAFE Act and advocated its passage."

Now, to me, that's kind of a ballsy move. Especially for a Republican.

The NRA really does need to tone their shiat down.

Before the non-gun nut majority does it for them.

The origin of that phrase is the 300 Spartans' response to the Persian demand that they surrender their weapons - 'Molon labe' - 'Come and take them' implying a fight to the death to keep them. But good luck with your beat-down attempt in a crowd full of those people.  I suspect the forensic evidence will have to try to make your point in court for you.

Half of me is happy that there's a leader of a gun advocacy group stating that the violent rhetoric is bad juju. Half of me says fark him for being a part of what brought it to this point, as if he didn't expect it to grow out of control.

I have a bumper sticker on my truck that says "My ObamaCare: Molon labe"

You have never seen so much head scratchin' as when I pull into one of the redneck places that I frequent.

The NRA is insignificant compared to the amount of quiet people who own guns and keep it to ourselves. If you feel the need to put an NRA sticker on your truck, I am truly sorry about your penis. Really.

You do realize that there are other Second Amendment rights groups you can join, right?

Or are you one of those Fudds who doesn't care when your rights are taken away?

"Fudds" are the new "activist judge". It's a completely meaningless phrase designed to allow morons to identify as more pro gun than thou (without having to be articulate or logical).

2014-03-31 07:34:24 PM
Thomas "we don't do the ballots or bullets gig" King has received an epic number of misspelled emails today telling him that he is either "next" or a fudd. Hell, he'll probably have a "we came unarmed (this time)" sticker stuck to his front door tonight.
