Which chicken?  The Benghazi chicken or the Galifinakis chicken?

The answer is "yes, among others" in any case

Does massaging one's own prostrate with an ear of corn while f*cking a dead chicken count as multitasking? Because that combination is clearly within his reach.

...actually, I'm having trouble sourcing Weber's "famous" quote to anyone before Weber. It will almost certainly have a bogus attribution to Einstein within the week, but does anyone know where it actually comes from?

Wait he wasn't joking!?

Only when it is shown that the President is accomplishing something else.  "Oh, he just did a media appearance that drove up ACA enrollment?  Hmmm... that is good for him and thus bad for us.  Oh, yeah!  BEN-GAAAAA-ZEEEEEEEEEE!"

That's neither true nor how science works. You don't get to the list of citations that a typical journal article has by assuming that everyone else ever was wrong.

Doesn't matter that's how science works--anybody willing to use that quotation to attack science clearly has no respect for it, and never will. Even if you got them cognizant of "yes, that's called the scientific process--observe, hypothesize, test, observe, hypothesize, etc", they'll just laugh and tell you that's foolish.

There's a type of person who will not change their minds about something--to them, whatever the first thought/opinion/choice was, it always has to be that way. There is no growing, changing or adapting, and by god there will never be a re-evaluation of the situation or information.  That kind of thinking is dangerous!

They also don't understand why people begin to ignore them when they are consistently and repeatedly wrong, and do not comprehend the difference between the two.

It's the one take away from the Nye-Ham debate that has any value:

"What would cause you to change your mind?"
Nye: "Evidence"
Ham: "Nothing"

The people who see Ham's response as more sensible are everything that's wrong with everything.

I don't understand.

Does this pigf*cking waste of diatomic oxygen, carbon dioxide, and many trillions of hydrocarbons develop a theory and NOT test it? Does he develop and test a theory, and then NOT compare it to reality? Does he develop, test, and compare, and then NOT alter the theory to comport with reality?

I'm just trying to figure out where he lost the ability to do things the way a 3-year-old would.

It is simple he is a Christian fundamentalist and he believes that science is magic and all magic comes from Satan to lead the believers astray. Scientists are really Satanists. When the only knowledge you need to know is that when you buy brand JESUS you are going to Heaven and anything that contradicts your understanding of brand JESUS is wrong you understand why Christians are fundamentally retarded.

They use the scientific method all the time, for example

Hypothesis: Global Warming is false

Prediction: If God would not allow the world to be hurt, then global warming would not happen.

Experiment: Read Bible, Appointments with campaign donors

Analysis: Bible says God is good, Campaign donors interests suggest that global warming is not cost effective

EXACTLY - I try to explain that to people. It's not so much the past scientist were wrong. They just were not as complete as we later find out.

Like Newton got like 85% of things we deal with correct - Then Einstein moved it to like 95%. He didn't really invalidate Newton just found out that his laws don't apply to everything.

2014-03-31 04:00:47 PM

It does nicely simplify things.  We need to stop engaging those people in 'debates', and as un-American of me as it feels, I'm reaching the point where we stop letting those people have a say in the decision making process.  It's dangerous to the rest of us. Of course, it's likely they feel the same about me.

And I don't mean all the religious, just the people who can't evaluate objective reality.

You know full well he doesn't form theories. Theories are weak suppositions. He has TRUTH. When you have TRUTH, why rely on the weak guesswork of theory? Even its proponents admit theory is flawed and incomplete.

TRUTH is whole. TRUTH is unflawed. And TRUTH can be used to explain everything in the universe.

Why waste time trying to fit data to flawed theories when all knowledge already had been revealed and conforms to TRUTH?

2014-03-31 04:04:06 PM
"So I was just wondering how that related, like, for example, to global warming and eventually global cooling," Weber said. "And I may want to get your cell phone because if we do go through a couple cycles - global warming and then back to global cooling - I need to know when to buy my long coat on sale. You know, I just don't know how y'all prove those hypotheses going back 50, 100 mill - what you might say thousands, even millions of years, how you postulate those forward."

I like how these guys try to be clever but no one understands what the fark they are saying because it only makes sense in their crazy made up universe.

2014-03-31 04:04:16 PM
Followers of Christianity, of which one fundamental tenet is the fallibility of Man, disparage scientists for admitting they are sometimes wrong, while professing the absolute certainty of their beliefs.

It's true. Meanwhile the truth of the Bible is eternal and unchanging. That's why all Christians still believe that the Catholic Church is the only way to get to heaven, that when Jesus returns the actual physical bodies of believers will rise up to live again, and that Jesus' physical body was an illusion since he was actually a being of pure spirit.

2014-03-31 04:05:52 PM
If you watch the video you'll see that it's really not a big deal. The congressman is playing the dumb good ol boy role and the scientist isn't offended. Free trip to D.C., nice hotel, get to see the sights when he's done talking to deputy dog.
