And that whole series was pretty disturbing. But you think it can't get any worse and then it does. It's amazing.

I think that's the moment you realize that there is no happy ending. I was hoping there wouldn't be one anyway, but that's the moment when "this shiat is getting out of hand" becomes past tense.

"Albuquerque police in riot gear and New Mexico State Police followed the marchers, and protesters were seen shouting epithets at officers."

Considering what that police department is accused of, and after watching them murder that man last week

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8aa_1395460451  (I'm not sure how that isn't murder?)

I could see them throwing some plain clothes cops in there in order to escalate things and stop the protest.

As a person under 30, Occupy Wall Street showed me that protesting does NOTHING because the cops will just come arrest everyone overnight anyway.

You can generally say mobs ALWAYS do stupid things, because crowd psychology is different from individual psychology. All it takes is a few people with a different agenda from peaceful protest (and you often get those few people) to turn a demonstration into a riot.

Given how reckless Walter is through the whole series, he never really faces a consequence for his actions until that moment.  Everyone else ended up screwed over because of him (e.g. Jessie losing his friend, his girlfriend, etc).   I'm actually glad it happened in that sense.

Sorry for the threadjack....

I had only caught an episode here and there over the years, but spent the past month watching the series in it's entirety.  Unfortunately, I have seen the very last episode (my BIL was watching it an I decided to watch with him).  That one didn't bother me as much as the one I watched last night.  Maybe it was just the hopelessness of the entire situation.

Yep, exactly.  It couldn't have ended happy, it wouldn't have made any damn sense.  Those guys would never have let Hank walk away.

Couple of years ago I decided I'm only going to watch TV shows that are completely finished when they come out on DVD.  It's such a spectacular experience.  Season ending cliffhanger?  No months long wait, I'll just stay up an hour later tonight!  I catch things that I would never remember, inside jokes and references and so on.  But my sense of smug only gets me so far.  Currently I'm missing out on what I know are a bunch of really farking awesome TV series - Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire.

On the other hand, I just finished Dexter!

Yeah, I know. My comment kind of implied that everyone there to protest decided that violence was neccessary and I know that is incorrect.

We watched Breaking Bad this way, and it was an awesome experience.  Since I don't follow TV news at all, I had no idea about the plot or characters or what happens to them.  When the series finished I was stunned, not only by the ending, but also by the realization that it would be hard to follow up that experience.

We're looking for a new show on Netflix to watch now, and we're sort of watching Scandal, but really only to see what happens with Huck/Quinn.  Olivia Pope and the President, who really cares?

Anyone have suggestions?

Is it just me or was there some VERY poor planning on someone's part to confront thousands of up until that point peaceful, protesters, who were protesting police brutality with a Phalanx of cops in riot gear?

At best you are going to inflame people's anger by giving them a visible symbol of the very thing they are protesting (cops with clubs) and you are also giving cops who have a vested interest in discrediting the protesters, a perfect way to start some shiat by provoking the crowd
