Mock all you want, but his arrangement of "Panama" is way more entertaining than the original.

Pat's singing, not so much, but the arrangement is killer.

My rock and roll fantasy is to kick Pat Boone in the nuts, hard.  Sad, but true.

CSB:

Years ago I came home very drunk and there was a fark link to one of his anti-gay articles.  At the bottom was a link "email Pat".  So i did, and I told him what a no-talent assclown he was, and how if america wasn't so racist in the 50s no one would have cared to hear his shiatty rip off versions of songs by great black artists, and that he would be remembered as the cultural embarrassment he is.

He wrote back.  A three-word response.  "I love gays!"

I was pretty sure I got owned.  Still hate that guy tho.

I will never forget watching a video of Pat Boone singing Little Richard's song Tutti Frutti.

It was......extremely.....WHITE.

/Sorry, I don't know how else to describe it.

That's true.

Tho I was living then, it's still hard to believe he was a contemporary of the Stones, Beatles, etc and competed on the charts with them.

The times, they were 'a changing...

It's really a shame that he never put out the hip hop album he threatened as a followup.

"The company that's building the boat got sued for some of it's investors and lost the case.  The judge ordered the company to pay more than $800K in attorney's fees, but the lawyer's haven't gotten their loot. "

Did a 3rd grader write this?

HA!  I bought that cd the day it came out and played it on my college radio show.  It was a fun conversation piece.

I have In A Metal Mood! It's one of the best novelty records of all time. And it was always fun to show off to perplexed friends.

Not just "novelty" records, but one of the best examples of late big-band jazz in ages.  It's *really* well-done.

I seem to recall that Pat Boone made  In A Metal Mood! as a joke because he's always been considered to be an extremely "safe" artist.

You gotta appreciate someone who can poke a little fun at themselves like that.

Cripes, millions would be sold, even to hipsters - it would be a zenith of irony.
