Ask your doctor if whale carcass is right for you.

Some patients have experienced allergic reactions to whale carcass.  If you develop a rash or swelling, see a doctor as soon as possible.  If you have severe rectal bleeding, this could be a sign that the whale has penetrated you anally and you need to go to an emergency room immediately.

Whales on the Texas Gulf Coast are rare, and giant ones washing up on shore are very rare.
I can't remember details, but I remember reading a story about a large whale washing up on shore near Beaumont and the carcass was large enough to stand inside.

Apparently for a short while, some enterprising individual set up a small table and served food inside the whale carcass, like a little seaside restaurant.  I would imagine the guy marketed it the same way as the
rheumatoid cure the article mentions.

There's the Rio Grande Coast and the vast Sea of Mexico beyond.

James Mason taught me that relief from rheumatism could be had by having a small black child curl up against your feet.

When I was stationed in the Aleutians, I heard that a dead whale had washed up on shore. I got some hand tools and went to see if I could extract a couple teeth, to try my hand at scrimshaw. I got to the beach, and the carcass was about the size of the one in the photo. It had obviously been there a few days, and was decomposing, with rendered blubber dripping from the bones, and gulls having their fill. I couldn't get within 20 yards of the thing because the stench was the worst thing I had ever smelled.
