Oh FFS! Someone started to fill out the form, got a phone call, left the form on the counter and walked away. Some clerk who didn't even think to check it because it was with the rest and mailed it out. Just call and ask for another one. And if you didn't even notice it was already marked in the very first part, you fail at following directions idiot.

Covered California is not a health insurance provider, and LaMesa and all of east county is chock full of Teabagging morons.

I'm sure this is just as real as all the other Obamacare horror stories.

Yeah, I'm gonna need some sort of corroboration here. Especially since, according to the photo, that x was hand-drawn. If CA was printing this stuff out pre-filled out, that's one thing. This might just be a liar.

"I'm an old guy and I never would have noticed it, except I have an accountant that notices every dot and dash on a piece of paper as a wife," said the man who received the mailer.

The guy has an accountant reading his mail for him apparently.

I'm going to go with this. Senility  might be in play or his wife was farking with him.

FTFA: They have lived in La Mesa for years and they have always been registered to vote Republican. Now, they are perplexed as to how the voter registration card pre-marked Democrat ended up in their mailbox.

I can solve this mystery for these nice folks.  They drew an "X" on the form.

*slowly puts on sunglasses*  I suppose "X"...marks the twat.  YEAHHHHHHHHH!

It's his wife. She is his accountant. It's a complex sentence.

Ah yes, one report from one family that received an already checked in voter registration. With a picture that obviously makes it look like someone physically wrote it in, not a pre-printed form with an X in it. This might be a story if it was a pre-printed form and sent out to millions. But it look like it was just a copy someone had started to fill in or someone did as a joke. Oh wait.

OBAMACARE, SMALL GUBERMENT!!, MOOZLIMS! TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY!! CONSPIRACY!! BENGHAZI!!

2014-03-30 04:11:05 PM
Next time I get a voter registration form in the mail I'm going to mark it Republican and then call the liberal media. Two can play this game!

2014-03-30 04:11:53 PM
Just because your registered democrat, doesn't mean you are forced to vote democrat.  Maybe in the primary, but not in the general and in some states not even in the primary.

Hilarious the conservative griping about this do not understand that.

2014-03-30 04:14:40 PM
Because registering with a party forces you to vote for them

2014-03-30 04:17:48 PM
It's sad that we live in a society who turns to the Media for answers before attempting to investigate on their own.

"Honey, we'll be famous! Call them immediately!!!!"

2014-03-30 04:18:14 PM
Wait, aren't they already registered Republican?  Just throw it away.

BrokenToilet: Because registering with a party forces you to vote for them

I think they're more afraid of being sent Democrat materials and being converted to ghey marry Obamacare, or something.

But I'm in agreement with those who say they marked the box themselves, though I think one marked it wrong, and then forgot they did so.  Maybe they felt biatching to the media was easier than getting a second form.

Local couple firm believer that registering for a political party means you can only vote for that parties candidates.

Hell, in most states it doesn't even mean you can't vote in the other team's primaries.

The whole "I didn't see it but my wife did" thing just makes me think:

"Area man too afraid to admit to domineering wife that he was going to register as a Democrat."

Hopefully this won't get too out of hand like that one time a woman was afraid to admit to her husband that she became pregnant from having an affair.

fta the application forms come directly from the Secretary of State's office,

Not California's Obamacare service, Subby.

What are the chances that the one and only form with a hand-marked box just happened to be mailed to a pair or Republicans with their noses so out of joint they immediately go to the media? What are the chances that form arrived unmarked, just like all the others?

For some God only knows why reason, I got a Christmas card one year from Bill, Hillary, Chelsea, and IIRC, their cat.  I don't know why I got it, because I sure as shiat never gave any politician my home address.

However, I do know why my fiercely republican, Rush Limbaugh listening, and slightly racist in a too old to change manner, got the exact same card in his mailbox about a half hour later.

That was a lot of fun, and I highly recommend should you ever get something similar in the mail.

I'm pretty sure everyone who plans on voting Republican is already registered and shows up to every election, including local ones.

Also, no one believes the story.

You know what?  Fair's fair.  How about Republican voters complain about this when they stop trying to intimidate the poor and people of color from voting?

I actually saw one of these back in the 80's.  Friend's girlfriend took a swig and immediately spit it out.  Looked in the bottle- lots of clutter at the bottom of the bottle.  Dumped it in the sink- small grey hairless mass that look like a tiny fetus and a bunch of other goo came out.  If we weren't so tanked, we probably would have all barfed at the sight.  Friend's girl just dumped it down the disposal and went on with life.
