ZAZ: In much of America the law prohibits posting unofficial signs that could be confused with official signs. Another law prohibits using unapproved graphics on official signs. FHWA got on the case of one state DOT that had the red dots wrong on the new school bus stop sign.

Jim_Callahan: Fake signs are mostly problematic because if they become even somewhat frequent it can easily train people to ignore real signs.
SecretAgentWoman: Anyone who visits Fark regularly should be fully aware of the complete stupidity and gullibility of the general human population.
SecretAgentWoman: I do think it's funny but way too realistic and could cause safety problems. Perhaps they could have re-designed the sign so it wouldn't look so official?
