Molavian: ilikeracecars: Does Supernatural count?

No, neither does Psych, Stargate, etc., etc.

Stargate SG1 and it's sisters were co-produced by Canada & the USA.

Click bait.  As Canadians love that show!

I don't get it either.

A 2-hour Bomb Girls "movie" aired this past week.  It apparently closes out the story in a satisfying way (I don't watch the show, but the spouse does).  Fans may wish to check it out.

Well, my browser crashed and ate everything I typed on this crappy keyboard, but I won't let that stop me from shilling ReBoot like no tomorrow. Laugh at the CGI all you want kids. I dare you to find more than a handful of Western animated shows that are its equal in writing and casting. And your villain never showed up at a birthday party, turned his amp up to 11, and ripped the hero to shreds in a guitar duel.

As a side note, I started watching War Planets recently, another show by the same production company. Insanely detailed for a kids' show apparently based on a line of toys.

Battlestar Galactca produced in Canada with tons of Canadian actors and actresses and writers. I count it.

I found out when I got a new phone and went a-Googling for a nice Guardian icon for my lock screen. (The phone's "name" is Glitch. Unrepentant dork here.) I was literally careening off the walls at the news. Remaining cautiously optimistic.

Wow... The Uncle Bobby Show. that takes me Waaaayyyy back.

How about "Tales of the Wizard of Oz" with the original bender.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvd50-0JxE8

Already saw "Seeing Things" and "Beach Combers" was Covered.

Currently my fave is "The Listener"
But this Could be the final season. The actor playing Toby has said no more after this year... but they could spin it off to a new Listener, he has met at least 1 maybe 2 with his abilities. Maybe Magnus will learn how to be a Listener... that could be fun.

Check out the weather reports there for about 6 months. Should cure you of that. Mind you, apparently especially if you can fit in with the University crowd, St. John's is one of the easiest places to get laid North America.

Dragon's Den is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) show in Canada.  It's like shark tank with a little insanity thrown in.

Porous Horace: I don't believe English Canadian TV exists anymore; we all watch American shows.
Quebec, where the govt pumps money into the French culture machine, has lots of TV shows. Quebecois watch more American (mostly dubbed) English TV than French from France TV but mostly their own stuff.
I think because as English Canadians we can so easily obtain culture from the giant culture machine next door, that we're stereotypically kind of bland and blase and that we're probaby a bit lazy, that we don't do much of our own stuff. Or just bad copies of better American stuff (Littles Hobo notwithstanding).
The French have little choice; if they don't do it for themselves no one else will.

The govt money  must explain why Quebec has such high production values on some of its shows.
There some excellent  TV here. I got Fortier on DVD for Christmas a couple of years ago. I don't remember  anything quite like it on American or Canadian TV in its day.
As far as reality shows go, Un Souper Presque Parfait  isn't too bad.  A whole new group of diverse contestants to detest every week.
For local TV, Montreal's is pretty top notch (if you don't mind seeing the same two dozen stars over and over and over).

The neighbors had a beautiful German Shepherd name Estobo,
named for the show Little estHobo. I thought that was adorable.

Thanks for this, but I like the cold.  Too old to fit in with the University crowd, but have a hubby, so getting laid isn't a problem :)

Also forgot Due South was one of theirs.  Loved it.  Also something called Stone Undercover [I think].  Can't find it anywhere :(

Blood Ties was good. The first seasons of Tru Calling, Continuum, Kyle XY were excellent too. I cant believe Supernatural, Pretender, Battlestar, the Stargates and Inspector Gadget (lol, yea that's sci-fi) were Canadian. X-Files? Zzzzzzzzz.

Dingleberry Dickwad: supayoda: Lost Girl, and I'm shocked more guys don't watch it. Bitten is a favorite as well.

Saving Hope, because... well...

Could be because when Syfylis channel started airing commercials for it here in the US, it seems kinda like a chick show. I've learned better since then, and prefer to find a way to watch the Canadian version nowadays. Plenty of reasons for a guy to watch it.

You have a point about Syfy's advertising. Seems quite a few people have since figured out that it's pretty much softcore lesbian porn with a supernatural theme.

Just being filmed in Canada doesn't make them Canadian.

If it does then The Matrix is an Australian movie since it was filmed in Sydney. And the BMW X5 is an American car since it is built in the US, while the some Jeeps are Austrian since some of them are / were built in Austria.

I like the Mercer Report.

But when he does a political commentary, it is totally incomprehensible to me.  It's almost like he is talking about another country.

None of it is about one party trying to destroy the country to make someone from the other party look bad, and none of it is about politicians who pander to paranoid ignoramuses. It's all policy detail.  Nothing at all like what we have here in the good old USA.

with the music version of can-con you only need to satisfy 2 of the following 4

m | a
p | l

(MAPL - Music, Artist, Performance, Lyrics)

if 2 of those are Canadian, it qualifies as Canadian content

I'm sure there's something similar about tv here, but I'm too tired to look and I gotta work in the morning.
