They won't care.  This article just proves Nate is a liberal, MSM Nancy boy.

/conversely, his article on the GOP being favored to pick up seats in November will be lauded as fact

To clarify.  This isn't to say Obamacare (or preferably single payer) won't lead to incomes going up, because they'll help prevent people from being trapped in their current jobs by their health coverage.

But right now, that's not what is happening.

I am making 2/3 of what I made 18 months ago.  But that's not Obama's fault. I was gainfully employed for the previous 10 years, through one of the worse recessions in 50 years.  It couldn't last forever. My luck was bound to change.

Thrag: I also have to say I don't think I've ever seen someone complain about a fark headline being true before.

I was criticizing the "thanks obamacare portion" not the entire premise of income going up.  Even the article seems pretty embarrassed to have made the claim...the entire article after the first three sentences is spent explaining why the first three sentences are misleading.

The article plainly states that the increase from Obamacare is not due to an actual increase in income, but actually due to the Bureau of Economic Analysis simply treating benefits as income for its calculations, despite the fact that employer provided health benefits generally aren't considered income, including by the rest of the government (IRS taxes only fringe benefits, which don't include health benefits, which is why you aren't taxed on them).  Increases in benefits don't increase your income (though they do increase your disposable income by allowing you spend less of what you make even though you don't make any more money).

Spending isn't even mentioned in the Fark headline, but if you want to get into that, the article also pretty clearly states that the increase in spending ALSO isn't because of any actual increase in income, but rather simply because Obamacare is making people who didn't used to buy healthcare buy healthcare, and that shiat costs money.

Yes, as I very clearly said and you quoted the article states 1/4 of the income increase was attributed to Obamacare. I'm not sure why you feel the need to inform me of facts I already mentioned.

The ACA isn't really going to slow down healthcare inflation in the long-term, just give everyone coverage. Too bad the GOP will use that as "proof" that "socialized medicine" doesn't work and will prevent single payer from ever happening.

/and at least 45% of the population will believe it.
