No. That's why they released him.

He hasn't been convicted of a crime. Is stuff on the field has been decent. He's kind of an arrogant prick (what receiver isn't? ) yet now he's a locker room cancer?

There's has to be much more to this than just the Eagles' perception of him and what's being reported. Something had to have happened to part ways with a player of his skillsets and production last year.

A friend of mine is a NJ State Trooper.  He pulled over D Jax two years ago doing well over 90 in a 55.  No ID or insurance or registration.  What he did have was a 16 yr old girl in the car who apparently forgot to wipe her chin.  Long story short he had to let him go after he got a call from his supervisor.

It could just be he had a beef with the coach.  But generally you still get something for the like the Cutler and Harvin situations.  Didn't Harvin punch one of Coaches?  Maybe the Eagles are farking morons and just completely butt-fumbled the situation.  If I were a coach or GM and I hated a player I'd send his ass to a soul crushing pit of despair like Oakland, Cleveland and Jacksonville for a late round pick,  What kind of fark you is letting him choose to chase money or rings?

And the herd you claim
Bay side when we ride
Come equipped for game
You claim to be a buck
But I shot your wife
We bust on big stags

Grab your fawns when you see my stock
Call DNR when you see them drop, uh
I shot at bambi,

It'd be fun to see him on my team, but considering our RB is gonna (justifiably for sure) get suspended for beating his girlfriend and there's a decent chance our most famous player killed a guy, it'd be a bad bad PR move at this point...

Take it for what it's worth, but Jason Kelce seems pretty pleased, and Vick's comments kind of indicate something similar.

Don't be so dense headed. You damn well know it wasn't one thing. I was pointing out that others disagree with the Doktors' assessment that DJax has been decent on the field. Big business of any kind frowns upon perceived gang activity of any kind. Fair or not, image means a whole lot when you are paying a guy $10mil/yr.

I would be happy for the Seahawks to sign another player for far less than he's worth.

If they actually have to pay him what he's worth, no. If they can get him for a Michael Bennett-esque one year, $5 million deal? Sounds great.

After last year's production something HAS to be up.   With those numbers a trade would have been pretty easy even with his cap hit.  That says a lot, that they want exactly 0 for him.   That's not "doesn't get along with coach" that's "going to be headed to jail shortly".

It's sad what the Dream Team has turned into in just 2 seasons.

D Jackson - cancer free agent
Nmandi - out of the league
VY - recently fired from Waffle House when he couldn't figure out hash browns
Vick - the worst fate of all, starting Jets QB

Even Riley Cooper has been demoted to foot soldier in the Aryan Brotherhood. He had been rising fast

It was cool hearing dueling viewpoints on this during my drive home yesterday. Bomani Jones was sure there was something to this story while Willie McGinest thought it was overblown.

Both of them made the same point that there are many, many black kids that grew up in an inner city had a connection to gangs in some way. Not that they were in a gang themselves or were violent, but they knew more than a few guys that ran in bad crowds. Essentially, they both said that 'gang connections' was a BS label.

McGinest thought it was just a cover to cut him, while Jones thought that someone tipped the Eagles off that Jackson had more than just typical 'connection' and that he was involved in some serious stuff. His point was that Kelly had enough recruiting connections in LA and that with some of the guys at Oregon that Kelly was smart enough to know the difference between a connection and actually running with some bad dudes.

I think it's more likely that Jackson and Kelly butted heads and Kelly wanted him out so that he could bring in his own guy.

Open to that suggestion as well. McGinest said as far as he knew from talking with players that Jackson wasn't a problem in the locker room. Who knows.

The LAPD is now coming out in defense of Jackson saying that he isn't a gang member or involved in any murders. I wondering if somebody in the LAPD made some statement to the Eagles about him having gang ties or being directly involved in a murder, and no they are trying to do some damage control because it wasn't true and they are worried about legal ramifications from that.

Um, what?  When did the Colts ever do that?  I'm guessing you're talking about Harrison, who had zero issues off the field while he was with the Colts.

On behalf of the Seahawks, no thank you.  We don't need or want that idiot.  Regardless of what his off the field issues may or may not be, he's a guy who played half assed when he was pouting about his contract.  We don't need a guy who is going to screw the team over based on personal issues.

Subby is racist. Clearly, a black man must have gang ties and be a problem in the locker room. You know who was a locker room cancer, subby? Tim Tebow. Must be why he isn't in the league anymore. That and his known affiliation with hate groups.

He does have gang ties, but pretty much anyone growing up in the inner city has gang ties.  Of course, in the minds of middle-aged white guys, knowing someone who's in a gang is the same as being in a gang.

Here's a good article on his background.

I'd love to have him for a season on the cowboys. And I'd also love to see him on green bay. Arod and djax would be fun to see.

2014-03-30 05:58:50 AM
The gang ties are tenuous at best so it was probably overblown although he's stupid if he hung out with them or tossed gang signs around. I have no idea but well known NFL players are always under a microscope these days.

Now, if he's a dick as a teammate, is affecting team chemistry, the HC doesn't like him or vice versa, skipping meetings or just generally not taking things seriously, I can see them saying fark it. You just don't cut a player that had his production last year at his age for no reason. Who really knows what that reason is but it's done. I think he's a good player but I wouldn't want him on the Cowboys and he wouldn't be the first that I wanted nothing to do with(Sanders, Owens).
