I give Dayton a good shot at it.  Florida has spit the bit before.

After Iowa State's heartbreaking loss last night I don't really care.  It was painful to watch but almost worth it seeing Hogue fly into beserker mode.  If anyone else had brought that kind of intensity they would have pulled it off.

This amuses me to no end

Go Dayton!

Gotta root for the Flyers, but I would not be surprised if this got real ugly real fast.

On, Wisconsin!

Did you end up going to MKE last weekend?

Nope. Tickets were basically sold out by Monday, and those that weren't, was just random upper level single seats for $250 for the entire day session. Not paying that much.

Damn, harder to get a more wide open 3-point shot than that.  Nice job clanging it, Gatorman

Anybody else see the DII championship earlier?

Didn't have the heart stopping end other recent DII championships have had, but the 2nd half was insane!

Well, I'm the only person in my pool with Florida winning this game, so I gotta root for them I guess.

/it's a tiny pool

picodenico: Not paying that much.

Yeah, I would have skipped out too. 2011 playoff tickets at Miller Park weren't that spendy unless you were behind home plate.

Indeed. I went to game 2 against the Diamondbacks that year, and it was incredible. Sat on the left field lower loge.

I'm waiting for tonight's game, I am supposed to be doing homework and not farking around on Fark. If I put the game on it would be the end of any shred of productivity I have left.

If it's not NFL or wrastlin', sports threads seem to be getting slower. I wonder if the World Cup final will get more comments than the average Thursday Night Football thread.

/good game BTW - glad to see a competitive one

Dayton's offense isn't getting anything done inside, so that doesn't bode well for the rest of the game.

The hockey threads also tend to be pretty fast paced, especially in the early playoff rounds where you've got multiple games going on at the same time.

2 game threads, I'm cornfused.

I've noticed that too.

I'll be out at a friends watching the Badgers game, so I'm only here for another hour.

I'm submitting a third thread - this looks like a good time to get a green.

Ouch. That's an exclamation.

2014-03-29 07:01:11 PM
And that's why they're Florida.

2014-03-29 07:04:46 PM
Well, the usual storyline in a game like this is that the underdog (Dayton) will make an incredible run in the 2nd half to close the gap to 1 or 2 and there will be lots of drama at the end of the game, but the favorite (Florida) will successfully hold off the challenge, eventually winning by about 8 after all the desperate fouling in the last 30 seconds.

Floriduh reminding me again why they are my least favorite college team, regardless of sport, in the country. Not that I expected my Flyers to win but...

Florida Basketball is one of the few Florida programs I can handle.  But that's mostly because of Billy D.  He's the reason I was a Friar fan first.

Taking a moment to point out that the Georgia Bulldogs finished tied for second in a league that was a flop away from having 3 elite 8 teams.

God bless Ashley Judd in slightly less clothing than it takes to cover her.

Florida is keeping Dayton at arm's length. They'll trade baskets all day.

Is "pack line" the buzz phrase for this year's tournament?

I realize that there are a lot of teams that are employing it at this point, I just don't remember it being such an emphasis in previous years.

I don't think I can remember hearing this phrase. But then again....I don't really pay close attention to the announcers.

Alrighty folks.

I'm heading out to some friends to watch the game there. I might check in later, but probably not. Enjoy the games.

GO BADGERS!!!!
