FTFA: "But at the same time the committee does remain concerned about why the decision was made for Lt. Col. Gibson to not be allowed to go to Benghazi to assist Americans who were fighting at the time there but instead was given a different task to do in Tripoli and trying to understand fully, with all different circumstances existed at that time why the priority was for him to stay in Tripoli and not assist Americans under fire," Hill said.

The fact that you don't understand already is a prime example why you should not be in a decision-making position.

Oh, and has the bill for the last inquiry been paid yet?  Just...concerned.  Asking questions, you know.

It's like they don't understand the complications of deploying military assets into a peaceful country with an unknown situation on the ground and thus no operational plan.

Thankfully the President does, which was demonstrated when:

A. We killed bin Laden.

B. We didn't go off half-cocked in Benghazi.

HAM: "Yes, sir. No one ever told me no."

There - that should save the taxpayers a few dollars.

In any investigation there has to be someone who says "That's enough - we're done". In this investigation that person would be Daryll Issa or his successor, who has been given the task to draw out the investigation right through the next presidential primaries. The GOP intends to use Benghazi against HRC if and when she runs so you can quit asking how long this is going to continue - I just told you. Sure it's lame and expensive but it's their plan so get used to it.

Wow. That guy peeled his potato and shaped the peel into one long Möbius strip.

Investigate the conspiracy! The investigation returned no proof of conspiracy! The lack of proof returned by the investigation is proof of conspiracy! INVESTIGATE THE CONSPIRACY!

Calm down, he's just trying to ask until he gets the right answers. It's like with Obama care. Just because they tried to repeal it 57 times and failed doesn't mean that the 58th time won't work. We can expect him to keep farking that chicken until long after Obama has left office.

He has made it his personal issue. He is the face of Benghazi and he can't stop because stopping means that he was wrong in the first place.

Yeah, and I find a great number of them are HUGE Tom Clancy fans. To them, all U.S. Foreign Policy needs is a white patrician who bucks the system and solves the world's problems in 2 hours or less.

I'll say what is already known about this whole incident. There is absolutely ZERO way the military could have had any forces there to secure the site in any way shape or form that would have saved a single person who died.

Asked and answered, Issa. Take your $400,000,000 and go choke on it.

I'd be willing to bet that are making these staff officers, who are mostly solid Republican votes, think twice about their vote next time. At least if they vote in this asshole's district.

Constant repetition and keeping the story in the news will result in low information voters thinking that there is some substance to the story. These voters will believe that there must be something going on if the investigations have been going on for four years. That's the plan.

The GOP is deeply troubled by the prospect of running a candidate against HRC and have no 'bigger fish to fry' where it comes to attacking her record. If something new comes up they will jump on it, but for now that's the best they've got.

Slightly off topic, but I find it amusing that all points on the political spectrum accuse the other of being low information voters.  It's a constant topic of discussion on the far-right blogs, and many are convinced that anyone who votes for a lib/commie/"demorat" are low information voters.

This isn't to say that low information voters don't exist or that the repeat a lie long enough thing isn't effective.  I've seen my parents and grandparents get excited about something because they heard a clip about it on the news, mainly political sideshows or anything about what they can or cannot eat because of "science" that won't make up its mind.

Exactly. Had he waited for Gray Davis to term out, he might have had a chance in the next election, his being a total douchenozzle notwithstanding. He got greedy instead, and didn't think his clever plan all the way through.

I expect he'll put in a bid to run for president, maybe even place in the top 5 in a few early primaries, but fail for trying to associate himself with "being like Reagan" when the only relation is being from California.

I always enjoyed Clancy's novels. RIGHT UP TO the last few pages, where a miracle happens and the bad guys magically all die and their cunning plan fails.

new rule if I reread them, stop reading before the end
