Everyone knows that.

Why wouldn't Cameron Diaz have a new movie coming out?

This explains why Cameron Diaz isn't attracted to me.  I'm not female.

I'm also not any of those things she might find attractive.

That's sort of funny because she's evolved into something that isn't very attractive.

My wife tends to agree with this sentiment.  There are a few females that she is attracted to, and would probably sleep with, Pink being one of them.

I think with guys and 'man crushes' it's not so much that we would want to sleep with them, it's that we would want to hang with them forever.

She looks pretty good to me, even without makeup, but then again, I am not banging supermodels like the rest of you.

No, Cameron Diaz, I'm straight. I don't have any hang-ups about other women, they are just completely uninteresting to me and always have been.

I remember a conversation about lesbianism I had with a friend when we were teenagers. Both of us decided it wasn't a big deal, but we both thought that the *entire point* of sex was missing -- the wonder that was cock. We thought it was like restricting your sex life to only foreplay.

Now, of course, that simplistic understanding has been replaced with an actual understanding, and again, no condemnation of any kind, but the idea that *every* woman is one drink* away from falling into bed with another woman is simply wrong.

*or seventeen, or fifty

i think everyone's felt *aesthetic* feelings of attraction towards the same sex (or, if gay, towards the opposite sex). it's easy to confuse those with actual physical attraction.

Cameron Diaz' problem is that she was always a mediocre actress that made a career out of her charisma.  She's still got a fair bit of energy but she sure ain't young anymore.  Pro athletes have the same problem -- at a certain point they need to learn actual skills or they'll wash out when their bodies start to break down.  She's now, what, 84 years old and at least she's evolved her image into a cougar of sorts, but she's still trying to get roles with her looks when she should've gotten serious about acting at least two decades ago.  But from what I've heard if anyone tries to point out that she's not 20 anymore, she gets indignant like she's not the one trying to bat her eyes into AAA roles.

Get real, girl.  You can still have a career, but you gotta realize you're old first and you are seriously running out of time.

Oh, I bet there's a website dedicated to it.

As far as same-sex attraction goes, I am very much heterosexual, but I once reduced a dinner party to laughing tears as I told them that I would totally go down on Bruce Campbell.  Not just because I find him awesome, but because I could win every bar bet from here to infinity.

2014-03-29 03:30:31 PM
Oh, and Cameron Diaz?  I would still walk on broken glass to have a night with her.  If the wife let me.  Which she just might, since she's had a girl-crush on her since Charlie's Angles.

The whole "all women are bisexual" thing is totally manufactured.  I do not mean that they are faking it (some are though), but that our society constantly sexualizes women.  Every form of media and art is shoving women as sex objects in our faces constantly.  This is the message that gets ingrained in us from a young age and it is not a shock that it confuses many women.  It's like subliminal messages that make you crave food products - you don't even realize it's happening.  Couple this with the fact that a lot of women form emotional, intimate bonds with other women where they share their deepest, darkest secrets, it's not really surprising that they start to develop confusing feelings for certain other women or are capable of finding them attractive.  They may even make out with other women at times for the fun of it (or attention), but when push comes to shove, most probably won't have sex with another woman let alone date one.  It's largely a fantasy.

PillsHere: It's largely a fantasy.

But oh, what a fantasy.

I agree with your larger point, for the most part.  But I think it's not just OUR culture.  Almost every culture has viewed women and the female form as the more beautiful and sensual of the two genders.  Even the current fundamentalist Islamic culture that abuses them so horribly do it for a twisted image of this basic idea, believing that they are protecting them and their honor.  That men, having seen them in less than full body coverings, wouldn't be able to control themselves.

Our culture may have bent that a little further by sexualizing it a bit more, but I think it's always been there since the advent of social societies and civilization.

"I think women are beautiful - absolutely beautiful," she continued. "And I think that all women have been sexually attracted to another woman at some point. It's natural to have a connectivity and an appreciation for the beauty of other women."

Yah, but the real question in your example is whether or not Islamic women find other women attractive in the same way as we do in the West.

And to the other point, I agree that women have been sexualized in most cultures throughout history.  That is not really being debated here though.  I can't say what sort of impact that had on other women's sexuality in other cultures in the past as homosexuality was largely frowned upon throughout most of history and in most cultures so it isn't something we might likely know about if it was a thing (how many people would admit to something that would potentially get them killed).  Granted I have not done a lot of research on the subject.  However, I can say in modern times, in our Western culture that it is in our faces and I think we've all noticed an upswing in openly female bisexuals in the past ~15 years.  The real question is whether that is due to the hypersexualization of women in the media, the societal acceptance of homosexuality, some combination of both, or whether women are just biologically wired to be bisexual.   I don't know how "natural" it is on a biological level.  I believe it is largely psychological (with exception to actual gay women).

I always assumed that the whole line of reasoning that all women can be attracted to other women is wrong, and usually the sign of someone seeking attention. The only female friends of mine that have ever said anything of the like have been attention seekers. The ones that aren't attention starved, on the other hand, have expressed many times that they do not find women attractive.

I feel that a lot of it stems from dumbass guys projecting their fantasies onto girls when one girl mentions that another one is attractive.

Then again the attraction between Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly in Bound was a beautiful, natural thing that was filmed in one take... then watched over and over again on VHS, DVD and now Blu-ray.

I think a lot more close male friends would be sexual with one another if they hadn't been taught since day one that there's something wrong with it. Not so much because men are all "secretly gay" or something, but because men as a species are horndogs.
