Shakin_Haitian: shower_in_my_socks: That 5.3 was kind of fun. Amazing what a difference a few tenths of a point can make. Whittier in '87 was a 5.9 and scared the absolute shiat out of me.

It's a logarithmic scale. A 6 is ten times stronger than a 5.

A 6 has more than 30 times the energy of a 5.

I'm feeling kind of sorry for the guy whose car was turned over and crushed. M5.1 can cause a rockslide? Who knew?

I was having dinner in Brea, which is about 2 miles from the epicenter. Never been basically on top of one before. It was pretty violent, like someone was under the table pounding on the bottom really hard.

Infinity370: pippi longstocking: I'm just waiting for the one that will sink that piece of shiat state.

Location: El paso CO

Lapdance: Well you want to live there, fine. The weather's Great but the ground moves around some. There are wildfires that burn everything down sometimes too. OK. All we have back east here are crummy winters some years, this one in particular and on occasion a Hurricane might get close or actually hit you. Where would I rather be? HMMM. Yeah it's better to be on Solid ground where you probably won't Burn.

I had a microburst strike my street once and it caused considerable damage. I'm from Pittsburgh and we'd also have to deal with flooding. Its not just crappy winters yinz deal with That microburst was scary shiat.

Isnt Cali supposed to split from the US in a few hundred years?

My high school education up there in Northern California wasn't exactly the best.

shower_in_my_socks: In the past 90 minutes La Habra has had a 3.6, a 5.1, a 3.4, and another 3.6. That's just not a fun way to go to sleep.

Those little ones are disquieting because you don't know if they're going to get bigger. You just wait, and wait, and wait... "Maybe it'll stop. If it gets stronger, I'll get up and run for the door. Wait for it... wait for it... It stopped."

I lived here at the base of this volcano. Little ones all the time. That is smoke coming out the top.
