Uhh, they're not rare outside the confederacy.  I know there's a bunch in PA, and there's one in the Burlington (MA) mall.

When I'm out in the afternoons I usually get a Ice water and something off a fast food place's dollar menu; like one taco, or a Whopper Jr. I stopped by a Chik-fila yesterday because someone recommended their nuggets.

I drove off because they only have the full portion sized for 5 bucks of so. Fark that.

The service I've received at Chik-fil-A has been universally great, while KFC is much more hit and miss, usually with a miss.

KFC has also become farking expensive, especially for what is essentially fast food. If I want fried chicken I'll go to Publix or Popeyes, both of whom have a superior product for a considerably lower price.

I don't know how often they beat the kids at the BK near me, but they're unnaturally Disney cheerful.

I'm almost positive that McDonald's sells more chicken than either of them, and probably considerably more than both of them combined

Yes. It's particularly creepy at 7:30 a.m. And when you consider the religiosity of the ownership, it makes it even worse. I keep waiting for someone to break script and talk to me about Carcosa.

To be fair, saying someone has "moral standards" without anything more is kind of a tautology.

I love the taste of KFC but it invariably makes my anus go super saiyan.

CFA doesn't do that, so it gets the edge.

Well they pay a couple of bucks more than minimum wage here in Tulsa. And it's not like Tulsa has really high costs of living.

And I'm not sure you can compare KFC to CFA, CFA main source of income is the chickin sandwich and they don't even offer chickin on the bone.
I have two boys 8 and 5, so I'm at CFA wayyyyy to much. I don't know that it is about CFA and kids but the kids just love it. And they give books as "prizes" in their kids meals?!?

/Eat mor chickin
//just make sure to add the buffalo sauce

I've had CFA, back before the controversy erupted, and even back then I didn't see the big deal.  Their chicken sandwiches are no better than ones you can get at other fast food places and the menu is rather limited.

They may be a crazy cult, but they have two things going for them:

1)  Crazy good service.  I don't care if they're pumping their staff with heroin and Jesus jizz 24/7, the service at Chik-Fil-A is the best in class.
2)  Breakfast biscuits I'd willingly kill a stranger or some of my lesser-loved cousins for.  I think they use a whole stick of butter in each one.

I don't like chicken sandwiches, so I've never had theirs.  Their nuggets are pretty good, though, and they aren't processed meat.  They're breaded chunks of chicken.

The last company I was with started a big initiative to reinvent themselves and improve their image with customers.  One of the big examples of 'getting it right' (along with the standard trio of Disney/Apple/Ritz-Carlton) was Chik-Fil-A.  Their entire company culture revolves around customer service, and they're far more discerning than other companies about who they let own franchises and the hiring processes those franchisees must use.

It's a shame about all of the anti-gay stuff, because they're really a model company other than that.

Them and In n Out. They always seem so happy and pleasant. It always trips me up because I never expect it. Some do take it to the creepy level though. Seriously one of these days we'll find out they do pump something into the air when one of the register jockeys goes all Reaver on a customer.

I used to work on a farm that raised chickens for Chick-fil-A and KFC. Chick-fil-A chickens were mostly free range and KFC chickens were raised traditionally. We didn't care, they all felt the same. You should have seen all them chickens walking around with stretched out buttholes.

Yep the people are incredibly nice. Seriously great customer service.

I generally like their chicken sandwiches and waffle fries but everything seems like it's getting saltier and saltier.

The service at Chick-Fil-A is so good that I'm worried they're trying to punk me or something. I have to keep my guard up. I will say that the counter location in the food court at the Paramus Park Mall, while pleasant, doesn't have that same over-the-top niceness going for it that makes you wonder when they're going to ask you for a favor.

And that is exactly the reason I do not spend any money at that establishment.  I mean, really, they should be forced out of business.  Wal-Mart as well, actually.

Except their wages aren't low for fast food. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of self righteousness.

/they also give scholarships to teens who work there before college

But their wages aren't low.  Their hourly turnover is the lowest in the industry.  Their franchise model differs from everyone elses where the operator doesn't make as much with a successful store, but corporate pays for everything up front - the real estate, the construction, the equipment, etc.  If you actually get accepted into the cult, they are giving you a $120-200K year job per store.

They may be crazy, but abusing their employees is not a CFA trait, at least not financially.

I have a love/hate relationship with KFC. On one hand, I get cravings for it about once a year. On the other hand, I feel dirty eating there. My yearly craving has been bothering me the last couple of weeks. So far I haven't caved.

As for other chicken places, we had a Churches for about a year then it closed. I tried it once and wasn't impressed. It had no flavor. We have a Popeyes on the other side of town and they are building another near our mall. Their chicken is pretty good. Not too greasy and plenty of flavor. Now I'm craving one of their po'boys.

Bojangles is horrible.  WTF is wrong with you?  The skin is overly dry and the meat is of even lesser quality than KFC. About the only thing they have going for them is breakfast all day.

How is Chik-Fil-A itself in anyway representative of bigotry? That's the private business of the CEO how he votes. Don't like it, fine. The chicken sandwich has nothing to do with all that.

Chick Fil A and Zaxby's both have good service, and by that I mean you don't get the feeling that the person taking your order is about to leap over the counter and kill you.

Used to like KFC. Last time I went I got that hyped boneless chicken, and it was nasty.

chick fil a is too 'mallsy', if there is such a thing.

but i do enjoy looking at the 19 year olds and wondering if they have a bush or not.  the food is very ordinary.   the girls are the opposite.
