(CBS Sports)   Looks like we're gonna have to expand Fenway's center field. Possibly by a Sizemore   (cbssports.com) divider line 22
More: Cool, Grady Sizemore, Red Sox, Fenway Park, center fielder, Triple-A Pawtucket, Sox

Guy went all out for every single moment that he played for the Indians and his body paid the price. If there was ever a guy who deserved a second chance at a great career, it's Grady Sizemore. I just wish it was somewhere other than f*cking Boston.

Pre-opening game baseball thread?

Quietly optimistic about the Yanks with their pitching staff.

At least you have a pitching staff.  We have a setup man making his first career start as the #1 right now.  A you LHP who should top out as a good #2, and a bunch of other guys.

First time that can be said in a while. Usually it has been the other way around.

Me too, and I'm a Red Sox fan.

Jackie Bradley Jr. should be starting in center for Boston this year. They won it all last year in what was supposed to be a bridge year while waiting to bring up the next group of rookies. Well, here they are. Bogaerts is in and starting. Bradley should get the same treatment. If he does horribly, fine. But giving the spot to a reclamation project is foolish to me.

Personally, I'm upset that the Sports Hub is even talking about this, or the Pats or the worthless Celtics.

Usually they cover the Bruins real well, so far it's been nothing. They've gone full WEEI on me.

All I hear on my morning and afternoon drive is Bruins. Okay, and Red Sox. But I hear plenty of Bruins stuff.

I look at it this way: Jackie is gonna have a fire in his belly when and if (and history says much less if than when) Grady goes down or slumps.  Obviously he's gonna have to figure out how to hit breaking stuff more effectively, as pointed out above, but I don't mind falling back on a second year player with a lot of promise.

\just surprised Grady's doing this, to be honest

T&R do, but when I get home and get to watch the simulcast of F&M I get screwed out of the Bruins talk I loved so much. I like when they talk about hockey...but it seems they are going EEI on me.

Like for instance today. I get home just at 2:00pm, and they open with Seizmore and the chances of DeShawn Jackson becoming a Pat, considering Hernandez's recent episodes.

But...the Bruins burned the team that beat them in the Cup finals last year, and nary a word.

Just more chit chat about Jerry Remy and his shiatbag kid.

JB Jr. still gets a ring from last year.

Mazz's worst fear has to be that someone will call him a flip-flopper. Every point he makes HAS to start with "I said it then", "And I said this at the time", "I was on board when this started", "Remember what I said..". EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We get it.

And I like Mazz, but jesus, no more.

God I'm tired of that shiat.  Granted, being from Jerry's hometown I have far fewer degrees of separation from the situation, but the guy who called D&C on Tuesday nailed it: It is neigh on impossible for someone not in his shoes to say how much help is too much help.  The subject is being dragged out by busybodies who think their experience of watching the Sox will be ruined because his son did something.  But that's the New England nose-in-everything modus operandi for you.
