This is really the cool thing but the "Fark: SOMETHING SOMETHING" meme is not the use which it once was of this. It used to be something such as Fark: And as the pastor he requires the church of he to eat the dead cherubs. Now you will see the such as Fark: The child stayed awake an hour past bedtime of he.

This is a vague repeat, I recall seeing something about it in farkus a few months back.

While my post above did call out that this was a repeat, I am not trying to belittle.

I am, and have sponsored for the past three years, a life cycle team.  So, good on ya, and hey, donate people, it's a good cause.

FTFA:" And given the long, ongoing battle between Christianity and homosexuality, what leads a pastor to choose to commit to a 545-mile bike ride to raise money for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center?"

Answer: That would be MORALS. And, you know, taking the most important tenets of Christianity to heart.

Oh, so still in show business.

What are the 'bad news bears'? Wasn't it a crappy movie with that guy who banged Angelina Jolie back when she was kinda hot?

TFA, and many Farkers, conveniently ignore that many Christians are not foam-at-the-mouth homophobic bigots.

It was a great movie from the 1970's starring Walter Matthau, Tatum O'Neal, and some kids saying naughty words.  The coach of the enemy team was Vic Morrow, who was eventually decapitated by a helicopter.   At the time the 70's seemed like a lost decade, but it turned out to be the last real decade before marketing took over every aspect of life.

To the best of my knowledge, "GLBTQ" is roughly in chronological order in terms of when each group got recognized as part of the overall movement but distinct enough to merit its own letter.  So, for example, it started out as a group of gay men fighting for their rights, then it was seen as a fight for all gay people, male or female, so it became "Gay and Lesbian," etc.

Methodists, aka Luthrens who are okay with 'the gays.' Seriously, two predestined Christian religions and my family has to belong to the bigotted one.

And a great decade for movies in general.  Perhaps the best ever.

I was about to say, when the hell did that change? I'm pretty sure we're solidly Arminian. We're also solidly covered-dish.

The other mainline denomination that preaches predestination would be the Frozen Chosen, ie the Presbyterians..

Langston: Well, you knew it couldn't be Tanner Boyle. He'd be kicking the shiat out of AIDS because AIDS is stupid and cruddy

The first time I watched that movie, I was young. The last play where he's rounding the bases and....it gets tense....but I knew the good guys (The Bears) would win...and....They didn't.
I looked at my dad, shocked. "They're gonna overturn the call!" I said. "Nope." my dad said. I couldn't believe it; the bad guys won.

Then as I'm sitting there, depressed, Tanner gives his "Next year, we're gonna shove that trophy RIGHT UP YOUR ASS!" speech and I realized an important life lesson.

Tanner Boyle is an American Treasure.

I submitted this with a bett-not really but sorta.

Rev Dave is a high school friend of mine and I've been submitting the crap out of stories about his Lifecycle ride.

I hope that the Fark community will be generous to his cause.

Here's a direct link to his Lifecycle page if you care to donate. Not sure if it will be text or a clickable link as I'm posting from my phone.

Please donate. A buck. Five. Or, if you're super rich, twenty.
