As usual, another exaggeration by the reactionary media, in their continuing and well organ-
ized effort to undermine democracy.

Any minute now, someone will claim Breitbart had a part in this.

It's an important point to make.  Yes, everyone on the internet is trying to get you to click on their shiat. That's how they make money and keep their sites up.

Screaming clickbait is as useful as complaining that a grocery store is trying to get you to buy strawberries by sending you a coupon.

Meh, trolling is trolling.

still, some news outlet will repeat headline as fact

Lost in all of this is the incredibly whiny and defensive Deadspin writer trying to throw up an invisible criticism shield.

Why is Deadspin whining about people whining about clickbait? They're one of the biggest offenders.

Hey someone should write a book about these things and say how wrong they are ...Then implement them all on their own website!

I think he's asking for better criticism than just "har, you just want me to read stuff. I'm not fooled."

It's more like "har, you constantly misrepresent what you write in your headlines in order to trick me into reading something I otherwise wouldn't have wasted my time on.  I'm not fooled."

"Find out the 10 reasons Obama is destroying America!!!"--clickbait

"Statistical analysis of economic conditions in Syria"--not clickbait

It's not that the second person doesn't want you to click their article. It's that they didn't use sensationalist bullshiat to try to get you to do so. Of course, Deadspin had a serious problem with criticizing sensationalist bullshiat.

well done subby.

As an aside, I used to work with a gentleman named Joseph Wozniak, and he was about 34 years old.  However that was not 92 years ago.

Reminds of when I used to work at a youth detention facility - we had a young man (maybe 14) there for 2+ years on some pretty serious charges including prostitution and child porn (as a participant). Needless to say he was very messed up in the head. It finally goes to trial and he gets time served, plus sent to a locked treatment facility. The headline the next day in the Toronto Sun: "Boy Hooker Jailed One Day". Ever since then I've refused to do anything with that rag.

Well, the U S Mericans had to pay to have another great wall built after Mrs Obama found the original great wall "Old, flabby and dusty" and refused to walk on it for a photo op.  They hired Michael Bay to oversee the construction.  He built several and exploded all of them out of habit.  Several Mongolian invaders were also exploded and the movie will hit theaters by Christmas with Megan Fox as Asian Jiggle Chick #2.

They finally brought in famed wall designer Roger Waters who infuriated Republicans because he's an English Non American.  But he produced a wall that Mrs. Obama could walk on and be happy about.  And that's all that matters.  No.  That is ALL that matters.
