If this is true, it's a pretty important discovery. Up until now, the host of Ebola was not known.

That's why I tend to stay away from anything called "Delicacy", which is just another word for "stuff we have eaten for thousands of years because we couldn't get the good stuff, but now we turn it into our cultural heritage and now white people go gaga for it."

/Oh, you are a foodie and love trying strange foreign delicacies? Try the Kiviaq. See how much you can eat before throwing up...

Bats have been the suspected cause for years.  I actually thought that was already the known cause of Ebola and Marburg.

Nothing good has ever come from eating bats or dealing with their dung.  I know people in certain parts of the world have limited choices, but bats are just not a safe source of food.

Just look at the case of the Chamorro people in Guam in the 1950's who had a major ALS epidemic from eating fruit bats - and granted the poisonous seeds that the fruit bats ate.

Bats scare the crap out of me due to the diseases they carry or perpetuate.

That was my first thought too. They also mention rats and monkeys. Nice find, subby.

It's the soup Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs...
