There's another thread on Fark that talks about Congress doing away with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae  and putting the issuance of government loans under the control of...wait for it...a LENDER-OWNED institution.

It would be lender-owned in the sense that large banks would be required to fund its operations, but the government would still control the new company.

The only downside is congress hand their hands pretty deep in the pockets of those two quasi-public companies.

So this one bank has to pay a 9.5 BILLION dollar fine for fraud, but Obama STILL won't file criminal charges?
