Yes, but what about the children?  Has anyone stopped to consider the example this is setting for the children?

I actually found this oddly compassionate.  Nothing really snarky to say.

Though it's interesting that dark has "clitoris" as a key term to search for for this thread/article.

TFA: Tandem does not charge for putting users and assistants in touch with each other, and recommends that any agreed economic compensation should not exceed 75 euros. "It is usually around 50 euros, because you need to go to the user's home, park, eat out...,"

Well yeah - I think that's the part they're paying for....

Or move to Germany, the Netherlands, or Reno and keep your neck in one piece.  It's just prostitution ... specialized for disabled people so that they don't over-work and possibly kill the client from a heart attack or something (or provoke a psychotic episode).  If you are truly disabled such that a normal prostitute can't meet your needs because it is too difficult for you to have sex without your partner being an expert in having sex with someone who is disabled however ... move to Spain.

What's that saying? "Ugly people can get plenty of sex, they just need to be willing to have it with people uglier than them."

Sort of reciprocal and twisted. But I get to have a lot of sex.

This is why I believe prostitution is a required public service. We ALL need physical contact and sex. Some people are disabled, unattractive, or suffer from some form of psychological block that prevents them from being social. Why shouldn't people like that be allowed to pay to be loved for a little while? Where's the harm if both parties are consenting to the arrangement?

What should be outlawed are pimps and streetwalkers. They're where all the bad stuff happens. Make it legal in brothels that pay taxes, submit to inspections, and supply security and health care for the workers. Include a modest "leisure tax" above the normal sales/service taxes (nothing outrageous; Low enough to make it lucrative for the workers). Provide a safe, legal place for people of both genders and all sexual orientations to find some affection in exchange for a service fee.

The taxes collected from legalized brothels would cover the national debt and then some.

It's ridiculous that we live in a country where it's legal to pay to look at a naked person dancing an inch in front of you, but it becomes a crime if you touch them or they touch you.

It's ridiculous that we live in a country where you can pay to shoot damn-near tame animals in a penned-in area so you have a "real hunter" experience, but you can't pay to have sex with a willing partner because that is somehow "immoral".

It's ridiculous that in most of our nation, an 18-year-old can legally sell their body to the military and be sent to a war zone where they might die, but they can't legally sell their body to a disabled veteran for acts of passion that will likely not result in anyone's death, but would probably make both people happy in one way or another.

We have our priorities screwed up. Frankly, I think we need to consider that prostitutes are heroes in a world where kindness, love, and passion are often more difficult to achieve than peace.

Sex surrogacy isn't totally unheard of here in the good ol' USA, either. It's been round for quite a while and isn't just for the disabled:

This is from a very good movie called The Sessions (with a very nude, very fetching Helen Hunt). If you want to see what the life of someone going through surrogate therapy is, watch this movie. And make sure you've removed all weapons from the house because is so damn sad and depressing you're going to want to do harm to yourself by the time it's over.

I read a Reddit AMA of a man who had had a sexual relationship with his mother, that started out something like this. In his case he was injured as a teenager, and couldn't whack it for some nontrivial amount of time. But the "relief" didn't stop when he got better, and (over years) progressed to oral and vaginal sex.

I remember him responding to a question about whether they had a romantic relationship (kissing, dates, etc.) with "Eww, no, that would be weird!"

That would have turned out a lot less squickily if Mom could have gotten a pro to help him. (Or a volunteer; surely there were *some* sluts in their social circle).

Gal I know used to work in an institution for the severely disabled, decades ago.  They'd teach the male patients to "release" themselves, since it reduced the amount of times they'd try to rape each other, or the female inmates, or the staff.  (technically rape legally requires they knew what they were doing was wrong, and they mostly didn't, but you get the idea).
