South Garland isn't Highland Park. This actually is a nice thing for a lower middle class student body. Although a bit of a drive, to be honest.

to be fair most high schools are too large for a prom to be held in the gym. high school gyms are pretty damn small for the most part.

when I was a senior in high school back in 2003 my high school had 5000+ students and a graduating class of 1500. we had to rent out a hockey arena for graduation and prom was typically held at a large ball room that could accommodate such crowds.

Jerry Jones will fire the excellent DJ after the first song, bring in an OK DJ then fire him, then just start putting homeless crackheads on stage and let them beat on 5 gallon buckets.

2014-03-26 09:51:24 PM
I was going to make the "who's going to score more, the prom or the 2014 Cowboys" joke, but I see it's been taken cared of.

//sad Cowboys fan
//We got Weeden, whoopee!
//When's Jerry the Owner going to fire Jerry the GM?

Careful kids. Josh Brent spiked the punch bowl.

2014-03-26 09:54:08 PM
Imagine you scored a prom date with that really hot volleyball player who is 6'1" without heels on. You take her to the prom, and as you're trying to slow dance to some UB40 song, she keeps bumping her forehead on that ridiculously large jumbotron midfield.

Would kind of kill the mood.

2014-03-26 09:57:24 PM
Oh, and for the sake of the community, spread a rumor of a painful STD running around and bowls of condoms.

2014-03-26 09:57:49 PM
So many teen age boys must have said holy shiat when they reveal where the prom was being held.

2014-03-26 10:03:24 PM
Screw all the snarkiness. This is awesome. Something the kids will talk about for years. And it gives a lot of kids a chance to be inside the stadium when otherwise they could never afford it.

Damnit Cowboys, you make it hard for me to think you're just a bunch of douchebags when you do nice stuff like this.

/getting a kick out of the Cowboys jokes though

Let's not forget that the taxpayers of Arlington, Texas are the ones ultimately responsible due to the $350 million dollars they and the peoples whose homes were bulldozed to put up that ugly monstrosity.

Ryan Leaf is gonna QB the whole PROM!

My class of '74 had 125 students, include the few who brought out of town dates and a basketball court was plenty big...oh, and get off my lawn !

The after prom was at a bowling alley and I was in the band that played there.

Jerry's world is a drive from anywhere, unless you work at the damn GM plant. It's old run down industrial, and even DFW ghetto doesn't run there.

It's huge, though, probably one of the coolest things they could do is hold this prom there.

Jerry is scouting for cheerleaders.
Genius!
/But really, this is very awesome gesture that will not be forgotten to all that are in attendance.

Class of '98, exact same setup.  No band at the bowling alley though, we had a hypnotist.

A hypnotist?  You wouldn't need that with our band

120 kids in my senior class. Prom was in the gym. I didn't go; played pickup basketball with my dateless nerd friends and SNEERED at the "losers" who went.

/College was so much better than high school.
