Big news this is.  Why?  Because they figured out how to make big wind turbines without all that gearing/transmission.

Whoa, 8 megawatts. I could probably run my air conditioner in Florida with that bad boy. And have power to spare. If the wind was blowing. You would need your own sub station for one of those.

/works for an electric utility
