From the update: "The American Red Cross will provide snacks and cool water to first responders at the site of the fire, according to a statement released by the organization."

At least they have the snacks handled.  Nothing is worse after a hard day of firefighting than realizing no one signed up to bring snacks.

Try it sometime.  The amount of energy spent just walking around in full turnout gear is redonkulus.  We don't even have to talk about interior work and clearing afterward.

Hey, the men and women first responders deserve this, and more. How many lives did you potentially save today?

Treif. Nasty pink worm treif.
Why do you want to punish firefighters?

More like turkey and cheese sandwiches. Cheap, turkey and cheese sandwiches.

Still, better than nothing. And walking around a fire on a humid day, in turnouts, and with an airpack on is hot and miserable. Now add in a hose pushing 130-140PSI depending on the nozzle settings, and enjoy.

Ahhh, Montrose.  It sounds so much nicer when it's referred to as "the historic Montrose District".

You guys do know what to do if you drop your wallet in Montrose, right?

Dancin_In_Anson: Not even close to the biggest Smitty.

Nice how they showed one resident saving their house plant and another was rescuing antiques and even managed to save her birds.  Wait, there was even a question there?  Save the antiques or let the birds burn to death in their cage?  Glad the birds were given some consideration.

I used to "blaze" through that apartment complex when I first got my driver's license because it had a street with lots of sharp 90 degree turns.  It was how I learned the limits of the car I was driving at the time.  The speed limit was probably 25..  I tried doing those turns about  - I don't know....as fast as I could accelerate through them.

That cost me a couple of tires when I couldn't keep it on the road.  Oops.

I'm not sure if it was that fire, but it might have been the one that was started because a teenager dropped a cigarette out of the window because she didn't want to be caught smoking by her parents.

Wooden shingles are not your friend EVER, especially in a fire.

I am assuming you are looking for something along the lines of, "Leave it there..." (said the kid who grew up in Houston).

You used to be a wreckless stupid punk.  You are lucky you didn't kill some kid when you lost control of your car going as fats as you could in a 25 zone.  I'm glad you grew up and stopped doing that.

Montrose is fine these days. If you drop your wallet a friendly neighborhood transvestite will gladly pick it up for you.

This fire is Montrose's 9/11.

The correct answer is "kick it to Shepherd and then pick it up".

I cannot argue with any of that and I'm glad I don't do stupid shiat like that anymore.

Hmm. A friend of mine (and farker) just moved out of the apartments across the street from there today.

I'm sure the fire had nothing to do with the complex being built right up on a cemetery.
