You know, I'm willing to believe that a shield with energy absorbing properties is somehow able to bounce off surfaces, a dude can use his rage to violate the law of matter conservation, and a talking raccoon has a walking tree as his best friend, but I can not for the life of me believe that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver won't be the suckiest part of this movie.

This.

Supposedly this is concept art being used for filming the opening of the movie.   If the film doesn't open with this i'll burn the theater down and cockpunch whedon

I can picture three scenarios with this picture:
1. Friendly sparring session between Tony and Bruce
2. Bruce has a major meltdown and Tony has to fight/talk him down
3. Hulkbuster armor has been taken over by Ultron and Hulk has to fight it.

texdent: 3. Hulkbuster armor has been taken over by Ultron and Hulk has to fight it.

I watched the Marvel Preview special the other week and saw that scene, and my first thought was that Ultron had taken over the armor.

Thankfully, Days of Future Past will be lowering the bar for big-screen Quicksilver adaptations very very soon.

I think this.

Supposedly, Tony is kidnapped early in the film (since RDJ wants to step back and take lesser roles in the films) (maybe Ultron controlled Hulkbuster takes out Hulk?) and other supers (QS & SW) need to be convinced (aka: big fight scene) to help rescue him.

I'm willing to give them some benefit of the doubt, since I wasn't too fired up about Hawkguy going into the the first Avengers movie.

Option 3 please.  I don't think there would anything more satisfying than seeing Hulk destroy the Hulkbuster armor on screen.  I think option 2 is most likely though given the history in the comics of this happening.

I saw those pics of QS and Scarlet yesterday.  I have no problem with Scarlet's costuming.  I think it looks fine.  QS, well, at least it's not the XDoFP version.  Avengers is closer to the comics, but still looks kinda crappy.  Hopefully that's just him walking around in a shirt and gets caught up in the action and not his actual 'hero uniform'

How do you make "super-speed" look cool in a live-action setting? Is it just a blur? Do you give him an iconic costume and a mask? If so, why?
It's like trying to make Aquaman look bad-ass: Almost impossible.

I don't know, Elizabeth Olsen has a kind of oddball, European quality that works for the character.  Scarlet Witch isn't an angry character, so Willow going nutburgers doesn't fit the character at all.  Besides, Marvel has proven that they know what they're doing when it comes to their casting choices.

There's a lot of cool stuff you could do, like showing it from the speedster's POV, with the scene almost frozen while he dodges slowly moving bullets and explosions. It'd also be fun to have lots of little Easter eggs thrown in that can only be seen by going through the Blu-Ray frame by frame of different things being done to help the fight.

My guess is that sometimes they will show him blurring around while stuff goes nuts, and sometimes they will show it from his perspective where everything else is going really slowly as he runs around catching bullets, punching things, and doing other fast-guy stuff.  Sort of a Matrix thing except Quicks would appear at normal speed while everything else is slow.  It is sort of a paradox that super speed is an easier power to portray in the static art of the comic book medium.

QS & SW are a special exception since they are both almost equally identified as Avengers. They will not be referenced as mutants or who their parents are.

Asgard's magic is their form of science...Thor has made mention of this in both movies.  Now earth has seen the alien technology and magic that we don't have.  Or didn't have until the invasion of New York.  Doctor Strange is supposed to dive in to this more, and that's how he gets his sorcerer supreme powers.

Maybe,  after New York, someone has tested tech left behind on people, and SW and QS are two of those people.  Not mutants, but given power ups via reverse engineering the alien tech?

I also think the twins aren't going to live through the end of the movie.

They could be Inhumans which are pretty much humans who got genetically engineered. This could be the first steps to introducing the Inhuman race. This would also allow them to get around the mutant thing, which it seems is exactly what they are doing.

Possible. SW & QS are in CA:WS in a couple of weeks. Being held by SHIELD. The Inhumans step, as yves said, could happen, though someone at Marvel has said 'not yet.'

The whole "Inhuman Bomb" thing is Marvel's way of retiring "mutants" and having new characters that Fox has no claim to .

Kevin Feige flat out denies that, but he could be lying.

Anyhow, my memories' are a little fuzzy, but I think Ultron/Dr. Doom/etc have controlled the Hulkbuster armor at least as often as Tony. It's like Batman's stash of red Kryptonite, only the bad guys seem to get a hold of it.

FinFangFark: I also think the twins aren't going to live through the end of the movie.

I am pretty sure that RDJ is only signed on for Avengers 2 and 3, so if they want that franchise to keep going after he is gone, they are going to need to find some new heroes. The ones who took over after the original avengers left in the comics might work.

That said if RDJ is done after three I hope we don't see quicksilver and the scarlet witch in that movie. I mean if 3 is against Thanos, I want the big hitters up against him, and not screentime being taken up by characters who are essentially the B team.
