Does country music often use a Theremin?

/TFA says she's a heavy metal singer.

I thought the boyfriend was supposed to be skinny? At 200 pounds, you're either really tall or really muscly, or a fatass.

She's 30 now and lost all the weight when she was 19.

Old news really IS exciting!

Is this the story where the BF gently suggested Fatty McBigass lose some weight, thus inspiring her to change, and save, her life? And then in return she dumps him? Is that the story?

It's great that these people are losing all the weight, but ya know what's better? Not becoming a fat ass to begin with.

Did you even RTFA Subby?

You must work for CNN, to be that stunned

Wow, that's pretty controversial. I might have to try this 'some kind of protein and vegetable' diet for myself.

Good LORD! Why has no one thought of that before? You are a genius!!!

She looks great and has a great voice.  Her band is called A Sound of Thunder.  It's kind of power metal-y but they sound tight if you're in to that sort of thing.

Why does every article like this act like not eating carbs all day is some kind of secret?

No, fatty. You can't have mcdonalds and fried plantains all day and be skinny.

It looks like her family was largely to blame for establishing poor eating habits in the name of culture.

I'm glad she lost the weight, but does any woman actually think she's supposed to be five feet tall and weigh almost two hundred pounds? That's just delusional.

Answering "yes" to the question "does this (article of clothing) make me look fat" is a sure fire way to relationship breakdown.  Offering your opinion on the adviseability of losing weight will just move the breakdown into warp speed.

/On the other hand, the dumped boyfriend offered her the best advice she could have ever received.  Why punish a truth teller?

The article says "she didn't eat too much, she just ate all the wrong things" and then goes on to list all kinds of junk food.

You can eat all the wrong things as long as you're watching your calories closely.  The problem is people who eat that stuff never do.

Hey, I found the article inspiring. Good for her.

I have always answered that question honestly. I usually get a thank you even if my answer isn't the one she hoped for.
You see, no woman wants to go out looking like an overstuffed ham. The worthwhile ones will appreciate your honest opinion. I'm sorry you seem to attract vapid coonts.

And yes I'm married. Creeping up on a couple of decades at this point.

So her boyfriend was honest with her, she took his advice, dumped the lard and then showed him the road. But she has done this on a fad diet (albeit one that actually works if you stay on it forever). I'm betting two kids from now, she'll be even bigger than she was before, especially when she never makes the big time in Nashville.

True. The only proper answer to that question is: "No, the (article of clothing) doesn't make you look fat. Your giant fat ass and enormous gunt makes you look fat."

2014-03-25 10:54:17 AM
Nina Osegueda was 19 years old, 5 feet tall and around 180 pounds when she remembers her boyfriend saying the thing no boyfriend is supposed to say:  "You know, you'd look better if you lost weight."

What's wrong with saying that? Sounds to me like it was the spark she needed to get herself motivated on living a more healthy life.

See this is the problem with people these days, we're supposed to accept everyone for who they are, as if being obese is some kind of handicap people have no control over. I'm not suggesting we should ridicule fat people, but there's nothing wrong with letting them know that it's their own fault and it's not a healthy way to go through life. Maybe if more people would look at their loved ones and tell them straight up, hey, you really need to lose some weight, more people would do something about it. You're certainly not doing them any favors but not saying anything about it.

Wait so Guy says something stupid because either he wasn't thinking or wanted to suggest she live a more healthy lifestyle. Guy sticks with her as girl changes her ways and becomes more attractive then girl dumps guy.  I know we don't know why she dumped him but I would think in most cases a lot of women would see a lot of merit in a guy who will stick with them no matter what.

Question for the ladies, is there a common female equivalent of this?

I'm thinking...

"Woman teaches man how to get his life together and she gets dumped for hotter woman who likes that he has his crap together?"

or

"Woman supports man as he goes to school after she suggests he could make something more of himself and gets dumped when he gets finishes his doctorate because she tried to change him."

Except TFA never gives ex-beau's weight.

Yes, this is the story where the teenage girl discovers she can, in fact, do better than the controlling bully who said no one else would ever want her just because she was fat.

Oh, people who count calories can and do eat those things. But not on a regular basis.

Because if you have 400 calories in your budget for lunch, and you're hungry, you quickly learn that it's more filling to eat a serving of chicken, baked potato, and a bed of greens, and not 2/3 of a donut.

Working out to gain weight, whiskey, beer, lots of food to fuel the workouts, etc.

I'm still 30 lbs on the short side of my goal weight and still need to lose this last 8-10 lbs of fat
