Tons of people did it on 9/11. Of course, nobody lived to tell the tale

Burglary? They didn't exactly steal anything.

This might get some people worked up in the morning.

On the other hand, I just discovered that beer dries fairly quickly when sprayed on the screen of a mobile device, in case anyone was wondering

/Bravo, sir!

If a WTC base jumper falls and noone is around to hear them say that they lived, did they live to tell the tale?

That's some fine security you have there.

Maybe they can hire an editor.  A 2:45 lead up to the jump of nothing but some idiot nodding his head in the dark is boring as shiat.

Another article said that a farking task force was set up & spent 5.5 months investigating this crime against humanity, collecting & scrutinizing security videos collected from every place in the area that might have a camera & going through them frame by frame to get even the slightest clue as to the identities of these terrorists....

Of course none of the rocket surgeons on this task force bothered to, at any time during that 5.5 months, mention or fix the hole in the fence that let the 16 year old get up there last weekend.  A good use of police resources this was let me tell you, a real good use.

/kudos to the jumpers, too bad our 'justice' system is more interested in charging you with a felony for embarrassing them than they are in fixing a hole in a fence

Man, that takes some guts to do that. And balls.

No. NY Times covered that the morning of 9/12/01:

Two them were arrested in December 2012 before they could jump off a 33-story tower in Co-op City in the Bronx. That's probably why there were initially suspected of the WTC jump. In the 2012 case they were charged with misdemeanor trespassing, and that's what they'll wind up pleading in this one.

Heh, that driver must've been a bit startled...

Subby should have put a little more thought into the headline methinks. Obviously several have jumped from the WTC, years before.

ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha: No theft is necessary:

S 140.20 Burglary in the third degree.
A person is guilty of burglary in the third degree when he knowingly
enters or remains unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime
therein.

See?  This is where a good lawyer makes all of the difference.  They had no intent on committing a crime "therein".  They committed it outside.

Boom!  Case dismissed!

Except for the reputation of the security company, the New York Police and the entirety of the Homeland Security apparatus, who have been made their biatches.

They should get a medal for pointing out the B.S. Of course, so should Edward Snowden. Neither is likely in the Land of the FreeTM

Most of the people hired for "Security" are workfare jobs and affirmative action placements. You really cant trust them to do their jobs correctly.

Most people hired for security are affirmative action placements.

If your're going to say untrustworthy, you might as well say shiftless. I guess you did in a sense.

Well I'll be damned, it isn't just an empty hole in the ground anymore.

Cool looking building... the Cira Center South is currently going up here in Philly just south of the original Cira center.

I like these sheer angular buildings, they look clean and freedom-y or some shiat.

IMHO, the Port Authority (I'm guessing they still have jurisdiction of WTC) should have a single jump day each year, just like the New River Gorge Bridge.  Possibly on a day when traffic is low due to a parade (Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day, etc.).  That way it's in the daytime, you have medical personnel on hand, and you can make jumpers sign a waiver of liability and charge them a fee.  Almost all of the problems are solved, almost everyone is happy.

I suspect the rest of the BASE-jumping community has no problem when the police come down hard on those folks, as they ruin the chances of establishing a legitimate jump day for everyone else.

The only thing that unnerves me is heights. But that was cool. I wish I could do that.

But the last minute or so was unnecessary.
