Good on ya, HBP!

I have no idea what those books are, but I might search my local to see if they have some.

Nice going, jerkface!

EviLincoln: SO WHO WANTS A SPONSORSHIP?

Too much power, last time I got one, I was nearly lynched by the mob who does such things.

Hope you enjoy it :-)

AverageAmericanGuy: I LOL'd.

If this isn't what FarkUs is about, I don't know what is.

Maybe begging for money. That's also what FarkUs seems to be about.

...and Boobies. Boobies is what FarkUs is about, or at least, BIE

wickedly authentic.  Nice work, HBP.  Wish I could participate more in photoshop contests, just short on time.

Very cool HBP. VERY.COOL.

2014-03-24 02:34:23 PM
Nice job HBP!  It made me chuckle and think about the contest a few years back that was something along the lines of "if men created the title and/or movie posters for chick flicks".

I have no idea what's going on.

Someone should explain.  Online community injokes aree nice, but everyone else wonders why you're giggling.

hillbillypharmacist: DontMakeMeComeBackThere: Not only have I never heard of any of those books, I have no idea what the headline means.

Guess I have no business being in this thread....

You should pick one up, then.  McCarthy's The Road and Franzen's The Corrections and Donna Tartt's The Secret History (I shopped Goldfinch there but it's kind of a beast) are all really great books.  And anything by Michael Chabon is fantastic.

I didn't recognize anything until I noticed Syd Hoff cartoons. The Littlest Leaguer was my favorite children's book.

Well done HBP

AverageAmericanGuy: Leave it to the goddamned liters to shiat all over this magnificent accomplishment by one of our own. You assholes hate to see someone succeed.

I'm a liter and I think this is great! Don't lump us all together ;-) I had always liked looking at the photoshop contests, buthave a new appreciation for the skills after watching someone do it a couple months ago.

Congrats hillbilly

Cool. I remember you, hillbillypharmacist. One of those usernames I couldn't actually name but upon seeing it I was briefly taken aback.
Ah, old Fark photoshop threads. Good stuff.

Well done. Congrats!

EviLincoln: People are confused by books that weren't made into movies.

o_O The Road was made into a movie.

Surprised no Fun with Chuck Palahniuk. :\

Great work, HBP! I lol'd heartily.

Also, TFD stands for Total F*cking Douchebags, and the tab wears it proudly.

Good job. I thought it was fantastic.

I can understand what HBP did, even though I have not read any of the books referenced.  What I don't get is the Slate connection.  Did they think these were real?

They think the letters to Prudie are real.

One of Slate's editors thought they were funny.

Late to the party as usual.
Great Job Hillbilly Pharmacist!
I wish I had 1/10th of your imagination!

I didn't get the joke either, so far as the references go.  I didn't think they were photoshops, they were so well done.  Excellent photoshopping, hillbillypharmacist.

(The follows is not directed at hillybillypharmacist)

What I really don't get is the liter hate because some people didn't understand the joke.  How are they (we) taking a dump on their work because we haven't read the source material?  That isn't a commentary on the quality of the work (or the joke) - it just means we haven't read the books in question.  I'm sure there are people out there who think civilization is collapsing if you haven't read all of the Star Wars or Star Trek books or something.  You wanna slap us for not having partaken of media 'X', fine.  Whooptee doodly doo.  Instead of being a dick, you could just take the opportunity to spread info about something you love in a nice way.  You sound like a reddit reader whinging that "Reddit had it first, so you Farkers suck!".  I don't want to even visit there because of those jerkwads, and in a similar way you are poisoning the well with your hipster-like attitude about us unread heathens.

Now that that shiat is out of the way, again - nice work hilbillypharmacist.  If I hadn't been told the artwork was fake, I would have believed the covers were real childrens books.  Well done.

BIE isn't a thing.
