Broke my arm when I was six on a Wednesday from falling off of a fence. My mom didn't believe me how bad it hurt, waited until Friday to take me to the hospital. Doctor at the time knew about it cuz I kept saying 'told you so' after the x-ray came back positive for a break. No legal butthurt was ever had over that.

My wife and kids know what the term "Boss Fight" means and it means to leave Papa alone and quiet down. Especially if I'm fighting Koloktos. But that's a 10-15 minute fight at most, not a 2.5 hour one.

Well, at 19 you can vote and volunteer to go die in some shiathole, so basically, yep. Legally, anyway.

Thank goodness they're not a gay couple...imagine what crappy parents they'd be.

He's probably wondering how long this legal shiat is going to take so he can get back to GTA.

A 19-year-old should play GTA and not have a child.

I'm over 20 years older so I should probably have a child and not play GTA. But GTA is pretty fun. Less expensive, too.

The boy suffered a right femur fracture, according to court records, but it was not clear what caused the injury.

I'm guessing it was a bad case of "I'll give you something to cry about."

in his case it isn't, sure hope the wife dumps him and the courts never let him have visitation rights to the kid

You can still be claimed as a dependent. And you can still be on your parents insurance.

You can buy shotgun shells, but not hand gun ammo.

But yeah, you can sign away 5 years of your life in service to Uncle Sam, but you can decide to have a beer.

How does a child break their femur in a playpen?

That. ^^

the solution here is fairly simple.
You put his nads and fingers in the game console, then run the box over with a steam roller.

No more problem.

syrynxx: How does a child break their femur in a playpen?

When Daddy gets tired of hearing them cry because he can't hear GTA V. Seriously, even if the kid somehow pulled themselves up the playpen and fell down there's no way he's going to break his femur. I fell down an entire flight of stairs a couple times as a toddler from what my parents and siblings tell me, and all I had were some small bruises.

Get their leg caught in the bars and then fall. I believe several types of playpens have been recalled for that specific reason.

Doesn't apply. The parent was at home with the kid and was sober. He's not even in the running.

He's a step parent.  He'd have to run in a different category, like a supporting actor.

This is an excellent question.

Also, if you find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile...  wait, let me try that again.

If you have a kid and want to play video games, turn the game on, put the baby on your chest, and you can play for hours.  If the kid is sleeping (and the kid will, trust me) nobody will ask you to stop playing or get up and do something.

/My daughter watched a lot of the "Neverwinter Nights mobile".

I'm wondering how this all leads to his arrest. This kid's leg is hurt and he's crying being a 19 year old dumbass you kinda blow off the kid and figure he'll be fine, two hours pass and the kid is still in pain so you take him to the hospital and the ER doc checks the kid and figures out he has a fracture. Now what happens? At that point they must have really started to put the screws to this 19 year old and somewhat twisted his words to get him to admit he was neglecting his kid and playing video games while his stepkid had a busted leg.

About 10 years ago, I injured my wrist playing softball.  Hours later, I was still in severe pain.  Bad enough that I was nauseous and sweaty.  So I finally went to the ER to get checked out.  Got Xrayed and the doctor showed me that all the bones were intact, diagnosing it as a bad sprain.  Then she pointed out a spot on one of the bones and said, "Looks like that old break healed up fine."  "What old break???"  Thinking back, I remembered a time in 4th or 5th grade when I took a bad fall and mom decided my wrist was just sprained.  Wrapped my wrist in an ace bandage and called it good.

I'm with you except for two things.

One, your kid shouldn't cry for two and a half hours.  Ever.  Period.  If they are something is wrong.

Two, a broken femur is a terrible terrible break.  It would create many colors, and possibly some fun new angles in the kids leg... you don't need to be a Dr to diagnose.

I'm guessing the police think he broke the kid's leg himeself, can't prove it, so are sticking him with neglect.

Similar thing happened to a friend of mine at that age. We talked him into jumping off the top bunk while we were below holding out a blanket to catch him. Turns out we weren't strong enough to catch him and he smashed into the floor elbow first. His parents laughed at him and told him to stop being a baby. They didn't take him to the hospital until he was still in pain three days later. Turns out he smashed a few bones and was in a cast for months afterward.

/csb, probably not for him

Step 1 in the process of getting the kid into a good foster home where maybe the kid will have a chance at a good life.
