Did young Halley just say, "Hell's Bells?"

2014-03-23 09:16:16 PM
Hells Bells?

2014-03-23 09:16:16 PM
Oh no! He said "Hell's Bells"! And now AC/DC is stuck in my head. Great.

Benevolent Misanthrope: Sighhhhh... looks like I can only get episodes 1 and 2.  Those videos I thought were episode 3 are actually a string of trailers.  Unless I'm in the wrong place.

How can so many people be having trouble watching something that's on broadcast television? No cable? No antenna? Do you even have a TV? If so, why? You can't watch anything anyway.

2014-03-23 09:17:28 PM
Actually, Hell's Bells reminds me of the Dresden Files.

2014-03-23 09:17:33 PM

Benevolent Misanthrope: Hello, everyone!

I have no cable, and therefore no Cosmos :(, but wanted to drop in and say Hi y'all.

What's shakin'?

What is this cable you speak of?

I am watching on digital antenna.

I'm starting to think this show is just an excuse for Neil to travel to a bunch of different places he wanted to see.

2014-03-23 09:22:17 PM
You can't listen to that monologue and NOT say that Neil is incredibly excited by science.

Only if he starts dancing with the locals.

The best part about him?  He WANTS to share his love of science with the masses.   Whether you are his equal, or a 9 year old kid asking about asteroids.

JerseyTim: Our ancestors were dumb.

Honestly, they were really farking smart. They figured out some insanely complicated and very subtle things, if incompletely. They were simply working from incomplete data, and where they didn't know, they speculated.

I don't get the message 'our ancestors were dumb' from the first half of this episode.

2014-03-23 09:27:46 PM
Oh hell.

*sips beer again*
