Waiting a week to question the pilot's wife is incompetence. Waiting over two weeks to question her approaches deliberate incompetence.

this. maybe they need a few more weeks to get lost somewhere.

The FBI was just brought on board. Unlike some police organizations in some countries like say a Malaysia, the FBI takes a very steady scientific method approach to crime solving.

I thought air traffic control heard/recorded it.

The article says investigators waited "out of respect." Apparently respect for the dude's estranged wife was more important than respect for the 239 missing passengers and their families.Truly farking amazing.

I think this went past lol gov is dumb to God damnit they are lying to us a bit ago. I can't name another conspiracy theory I believe in but nothing about this adds up. I find it hard to believe some folks Don't know a lot more about what happened.

b2theory: Did anyone figure how how they know about this alleged cell phone?

I suspect that they checked the pilot's phone records, focused on the final calls that he received before take-off, and when they checked this number it came back as belonging to a disposable phone. When they went to the shop that sold it, they found that the buyer had used a fake ID when they made the purchase.

Thing is that would have taken about a day to do. Why the delay?

NickelP: Thing is that would have taken about a day to do. Why the delay?

I think it would take more than a day to get the records in hand and track down all of the people behind each number. The article says investigators had already contacted everyone else behind the other phone numbers. This is the one that turned out to be suspicious. I imagine the process of tracking down who sold the SIM card was another administrative hurdle that took time. And who knows how long ago investigators knew about this before the media found out. If I was investigating it, this is probably something I would want to keep quiet about in the hope that the person won't know law enforcement is on their tail.

Has boeinghazi.com been alerted to this fresh news? We have the fake ID in question, registered to a man named B. Soetoro. The FBI is working on the full name as we speak.

Not sure if serious. Historically the FBI's conviction rates have been abysmal, like 25%. The only reason that's improved since 9/11 is the reliance on paid informants, most of whom themselves are criminals.

Apparently other countries are stricter than the US when it comes to prepaid phones. Here you can walk into a store like Target or Walmart & buy a prepaid phone like a Tracfone with no ID needed. You don't even need to provide a name when activating it.

Ayup. Used to do customer service for Boost. You could bring the customer database to a standstill searching for "Man, Bat" and "Jenkins, Leroy".

I heard a very interesting theory. It goes "North Korea done it". The idea being; the pilot defected TO North Korea. The only thing is; I don't know if North Korea even has a runway capable of handling a landing 777 (or whatever it was).

Boenghazi.com is a perfectly cromulent source of information.  you'll see soon enough once FOXNEWS picks up on the information

Because if I wasn't reading about Flight 370 on the Internet, I would be standing on the Ukrainian border with an AK-47 and riot gear...

This story is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing to the general populations... distracting them from bigger issues happening in the world. Same tactics the media governments use over and over and nobody seems to even notice.

good ole Bait and switch never gets old...
