But can Wiggins save Wichita?

Bad tournament for potential top draft picks.

I tried for most of the winter to get a Kansas-Ender's Game headline greened.  And this happens, long after the movie has left the theaters?

Not going to win many games when your best player scores 4 points. Did he forget that the enemy hoop is down?

Nash's random bracket wins again!

/too bad I had Stanford losing to Ohio State next round

Now I feel a little bit better. I boldly predicted last week that New Mexico was going to beat Kansas because (a) Kansas had injury concerns and (b) they were young and inexperienced. I was half right. I let my correct analysis of Kansas blind me to the reality that the Lobos' tournament record is .333 (8-16) for a reason.

I was praying for Kansas to be a third seed for the headline potential. I think someone had an Ender headline right at the start of the season though.

That's ok.  They'll lose to UD next round instead.

It's not like the movie was based on a well known sci-fi book or anything.

So, what happens if Kentucky beats Wichita?  Drew gets hammered and gives everyone free TF for the week?

The teams just happen to contain the best players. It's a coincidence I'm sure.

The real question is what happens if they lose? More Duke sucks threads, of course.

Given that greens are biased in favor of IO9 "if they didn't make a movie of it, it ain't SciFi", I didn't have high hopes...

Yep it is a true science fact. That is why not even 1 NBA superstar has ever won a national championship. Ever.

Kansas was overrated. Seeing them get a 2 seed after the way they lost to West Virginia really surprised me. I had Stanford winning this one in my bracket.

With the Kansas and Wichita State loss my bracket is officially farked.

I went from still having all of my Elite Eight to losing both teams in my championship because of those two

My final 4: Florida, Arizona, Michigan & Michigan State.

I'm insane.

Defense is a lot different in NCAA basketball compared to NBA. It's not just the talent level, but the rules that allow for very different defensive play in the college game... whereas the NBA is more set up for the most talented players to show their stuff.

I had the JayChokes to loose but bet Shockers would beat Kentucky.  It's just me but I like to watch "elite" teams lose.  Especially to the blue collar kids like Wichita State (even though they're not really that blue collar).  I've done so poorly with my brackets that I don't even care anymore.  Worst bracket I've ever done.  Years ago, when Kansas/Danny Manning won the championship, I correctly picked 30/32 games in the first round and there were a bunch of first round upsets that year.  I won a lot of money from a $20 pool that had about 100 players.  I've lost enough since that I'm probably about breaking even now.

Mine is FL AZ Cincy and Louisville. Lou over FL. My bracket was shiat from the get go

Lol - I had Wichita St and Kansas in the championship game.  I now have about 400 PPR.

/ I don't follow college basketball.  Obviously.

Insane?  All of those teams are still in.  Three of those are the favorites to win their region.  That's not insane.

But Stanford's gate was down!

2014-03-23 08:48:09 PM
Not really a fail when Embiid, who is a possible top 5 draft pick, was out.  Nobody expected them to win the tournament without him.

They're all still in, so you're not looking too bad.  I've got UF, 'Zona, Louisville, and (ugh) Villanova.  Completely farked up on the East.  Not so good in the South.  (As with football, never bet on the frauds in Columbus.  And WTF Kansas?)  West and Midwest look good though.

That was mine too... is there anyone who did not pick Louisville? Are they deliberately underseeding and overseeding teams to try to drum up excitement?

Allegedly, the committee was "sending a message" about weak out of conference schedules.

Well done, crooked dumb asses.

Well done.

I'm pretty sure the committee was actually "sending a message" about how Pitino versus his former assistant in primetime would make for good ratings.

Crooked dumb asses indeed.

Not sure why anyone picked Villanova.  They didn't look that great all year, and perpetually underachieve.
