Who made who?

Followed by "Have A Drink On Me".

It'd been cool if Brian had followed up by taking over vocals on Piano Man.

I wonder if Bon Scott would've done it.

Because People in power are Stupid: I wonder if Bon Scott would've done it.

Billy Joel  drank to the point of black out every night for about 30 years, bagged the hottest woman in the world until he got sick of her shiat and drank furniture polish and it couldn't kill him.  Bon Scott was a pussy lightweight who couldn't handle his liquor.

My second concert included Scott-era AC/DC (get off my lawn!). Never been too keen on Johnson's voice. Still kinda cool. I'd rather have heard Billy Joel sing the song, frankly. He is a better singer.

Cool I guess, but played pretty slow. Even the people in the crowd seemed kinda like 'meh.'   So, older white suburban people pretty much all thru the arena. NTTAWTT.

I like Billy Joel, but I'll admit that he's pretty much the definition of older white suburban people.

he did not leave a tender moment alone!

I noticed that, too. 80, 85% normal speed? Not nearly as exhilarating as I expected.

1) Yeah. Not the energetic performance I've seen but still Billy Joel doing an AC/DC song!

2) Saw Joel in Denver for the 'Nylon Curtain' tour. Paul Simon came out and they did a Beatles' song;
either "Twist and Shout" or "I Want To Hold Your Hand".

It was pretty cool.

Yeah, they played it at 120 bpm vs 128.  But for two old road-worn legends, 94% as fast isn't too bad.

Ok, I took a wild guess but the minute I posted thought I was too low. Thanks for doing the math.

I've seen Billy Joel 5 or 6 times, 80s and 90s.  Saw him last month in Pittsburgh and it was the best show he's ever done.

I don't think the actual tempo is the problem, so much as the overall energy level of the band. It just felt kind of flat. Of course, it's Billy Joel's band, not AC/DC, so whaddaya gonna do. A thrill for the grannies in the audience, anyway.

Jesus, all of the concerts have video now so that you can see it on the jumbotron. Why in the fark do we always get stuck watching some schmuck's footage from their smartphone? This was much better than a LOT of videos, but for the love of God, just use the camera footage, and PLEASE use the house audio, a smartphone recording of the sound usually sucks ass.

Like I said, this was better than we usually get, but with all of the cameras available, they could have totally put something together, added in the GOOD audio and officially released it. It's nothing but free advertising for the goddam tour anyway.

Because a line cut and 2-mix/stems are freely offered to punters at events like this? Or any event ever? If you want that kind of quality, buy the DVD.

I didn't SAY "punters like this" most people would be able to figure out that maybe the concert promoters put together a video of this song using quality video and audio feeds and then releases it as a promo product. Free publicity for the tour using already existing data.

Jesus, am I gonna need to hold your hand the while night?

Who the hell do you think made AC/DC popular in the first place?

Saw Joel last month at MSG. Great show, band was EN FUEGO that night. The entire audience however, were rich, old white folks.

... followed by a duet of Sting's "Lithium Sunset."

Bottom line - it was very cool that Billy & Brian worked something out - each showing respect to each other despite the style differences. Stop with all the hate people.

I loved hearing Springsteen open his show in Perth (Bon Scott's birthplace) with "Highway to Hell".

Angus & Co are getting proper respect for being a steady rock amidst changing styles. They simply rule. That is all.

Probably because there is not a whole lot of piano parts in AC/DC songs, if any.

Still interesting though it would have been nice to hear Joel sing a bit more as was mentioned above.  It was more of Brian Johnson with Billy Joel's band.

2014-03-23 10:53:52 AM
The night I saw him last month, he was having major vocal issues. He had to keep spraying his throat and mentioned it before almost every tune. Not sure if he could handle the screeching that Johnson does.

ProTip:  "Most people" are incorrect.

Someone uploaded a cell phone video to YouTube. The sooner you accept that this will continue to happen, the sooner you can take your derp back to the politics tab.

You had no idea that "Big Balls" was actually a song about mortality and the fragility of the male ego.

too bad Billy Joel does not know how to REALLY sing, he can only perform his songs on key!
listen to the 2009 Super Bowl, he was way off key during the SSB
leave a tender moment alone is a good song, as he is a great performer

Then, you backpedaled:

Who exactly were you exhorting to use production audio and video?

Yeah, yeah, ya got me hook, line, and sinker. Back to your cage, fark-o.

Jesus, people really need to guide you through life, don't they.

I was saying that the concert promoters need to start using the goddamm resources that they already have in place to start putting out videos like this. They are already recording it, when they see something that is going to generate buzz, they should cash in, put together a video from what they already have, and post them at on the Internet, rather than have some moron's shiatty hand held crap as the only available option.

I stated this multiple times and didn't "backpedal" at all, but as I already pointed out, reading comprehension doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Here, this should be easier for you(repeat in your best Alley-Oop voice in your head):

'If music people post video, it look better and sell more tickets.'

Sorry about using 2 syllable words there...

Whoops, sorry about using the word 'syllable'.

They "should", but they "won't".  All they see is green in their eyes and think "Woah...people would see money to see a crappy cover of AC/DC if Brian Johnson is singing on it.  We should sell this!!!"

Thus we end up with crappy cell phone videos.

Is there a memo around larger labels' stars to promote the shiat outta AC/DC while they're on the road? Do Springsteen and Joel know about some upcoming anniversary reissue box set that the label felt needed some promotion ahead of time?
