P.S. Prudie, I used to be a woman.

DNRTFA, but did read some low grade SF by a mid grade author where the first book in the series concluded with the stunning revelation, "none of us in this cabin is the sex he or she appears to be." Stephen R. Donaldson? Details mercifully forgotten.

Wait... isn't that a Killers song?

It seems to me that revealing you used to be a man AFTER you've had sex might not be the best way to engender trust.

I'm sorry, I'm wrong, I'm narrow minded, I'm a bigot, and I am definitely a bad person, but if you were born the same sex as me that is a deal killer.
I wish you all the happiness in the world, but nope.

I think you should tell every women you meet that if you are thinking of asking them out, just to be on the safe side.

Well I probably wouldn't do it but some people view sex differently and if I wasn't sure they were a keeper I might not tell until I decided they were worth a relationship. Right know though I have to teal for my own safey and I don't wanna be in the Crying Game 2.

/Maybe that's why I've never dated someone in the IRA.

Yeah, especially if you wanted to start a family. I can see where that would be a definite problem.

In the old days of Dear Abby and Ann Landers, I assumed that all of those letters were real, and they probably were.  But now, I assume that Prudie just makes most of hers up.

Meh, it's a Prudence letter, so it's fake, that column has the worst screeners in the English language.

But if it weren't fake, it seems fairly reasonable to break up with someone for not intending to even tell you their gender until after you'd slept with them (or I guess during if reassignment surgery's not involved).  That's treading pretty close to rape by deception territory there, differing gender identity or not.  As for the parents not approving, welcome to like 90% of marriages, deal with it.

It should be the law to require full disclosure on this point, like say if you want kids.

// fake female is fake. Want the real thing not unleaded pussy.

Not that this is real but, the guy had every right to be upset at being deceived.  Am i overly judgmental in this opinion?

I know this is all fake, but for all intended purposes I'd love to be a fly on the wall after she tells him she was born a male right after sexy times.

Damn, I wish Prudie had been there 2 years ago, when the exact same thing happened to me!

Thank goodness for the Dear Prudence column, helping all of us through universal problems that are useful to the general public.

First,

Who waits 90 days before getting intimate?  Unless this transgendered person gave epic head(which from what I have seen from internet porn and heard tales of they do) then the guy never had the chance to slip his pants completely off.

Second,

The transgendered person began the relationshiop with a lie.

Third,

False letter is false.

Etiquette question:  Do I need to declare that I used to be a man if I still am a man?

What if I used to be a man, and then got married (and we all know what happened then,) but now I am a man again?

I saw a guy in the ER who successfully committed suicide after finding out he'd had sex with a tranny. Some people just don't have the sense of humor about those kinds of things that trannies think they're supposed to have.

That's fine, but that's not something you can keep from a partner for 3 months, or until after you've had sex.

Fair or not, most men don't want to be with a genetic male, and they have every right to choose not to be.  I think in a situation like this, there are 2 possibilities:  disclose this as soon as a mutual romantic attraction has been established, so both partners are knowingly entering into a cis/trans "mixed" couple, or wait until later, when the deception will be an excuse to end the relationship.

Much easier to do it that way instead of at the moment of truth when she is trying to convince you that she has an 9 inch clitoris and likes to drive.

I was just on a United flight where the flight attendant was 6'4" ish (just a bit taller than me so guestimating), with large, well-defined hands and arms...and (s)he was wearing the cloth kerchief around the neck that flight attendants wear...probably to hide the humoungous adams apple.

Duke_leto_Atredes: It should be the law to require full disclosure on this point

First you'll need to define "female" and "male" in an unambiguous way, so that every person has exactly one gender. Then you'll need to convince us that there's a reason to discriminate along that divide.

/ It should be law to require full disclosures on the presence of any blacks among your progenitors, in case I want to have kids

happydude45: Because you just might want a kid or two that has yours and your spouse's dna.

If that's your argument, shouldn't you also require that people get tested for fertility and disclose those results? Why is this sort of infertility different than others?

Also, you should stop wanting that. If you want to raise kids there are lots of ways to go about that. Demanding that they have some particular DNA sequence is just as petty and harmful as demanding that they have blue eyes.
